There are easy jokes to be made about this video, but truly it’s such a slap in the face to actual artists in the film industry. The fact that someone like Kim K can just decide to be an actor on the highest level, while those who put their whole soul into it probably won’t ever get to be on Actors on Actors… just deeply upsetting.

Not at all. Both of these woman are actresses. One is a skilled seasoned actress with more experience, and the other is just getting started but is in classes and doing the work. Chloe respects the craft and respects upcoming actors. She has no reason to feel disrespected.

@@Karolahowls it seems like she's becoming one now. An actress is simply someone who works as one. There are a ton of models, musicians, people born into rich or famous families who become actors. People who never went to drama school who become actors. A lot of people get professional opportunities because of what they look like and who they know or their influence, not because they were born with undeniable talent in whatever area it is they work on. You might like and respect some of their work more than others' but I find this type of mindset misogynistic and hypocritical too. A lot of actresses from the 50s/60's that people now put on a pedestal now, were seen and judged the same way people judge kim now in their day. Kim isn't an intellectual, neither is she someone who knows a lot about cinema or who has done of studied acting ever since she was a kid. But like her and her performance or not, she is doing acting work now. Therefore she's an actress. And she's actually pretty decent at it, and chances are she will continue to get better with time seeing how professional, hard working and self motivated she seems to be

It’s so sad to see how little Kim tries!!! It barely feels like a conversation. Chloe is doing must of the questions and is actually interested in what Kim’s experience as an actor has been. Kim is just answering everything as if she was in an interview. Variety really blew this one

I truly believe that Kim is actually trying. She's just not capable of doing more, because her family never had to actually use their brains to be famous. I also do not say this just to be mean. It's just something I noticed when anyone from that family is talking. They're barely able to build a proper sentence, let alone speak about anything with substance. I'll never get over the fact that Variety invited Kim K to do this but not someone like Dakota Fanning who just wrapped up the Ripley series with Andrew Scott (who's going to be on this show next week with Brie Larson) and is an actual experienced actor is just so unbelievable and ridiculous. This is absolutely dreadful. I wanted to give Kim a chance. I think she’s a hard worker but her lack of curiosity and she just seems out of her depth and it’s so difficult to watch. She did not ask one interesting question. It was like Chloe was babysitting aand it was just painful to watch. Kim can do what she wants but to take on a craft that is so beloved for the work that you put in and absolutely have nothing. It’s like acting with someone who’s dead in the eyes is the worst experience and she is completely dead looking inside. This was just painful.

This is beyond sad. Kim Kardashian is just clueless as to what it is to be a true actress. She has no depth and knowledge of cinema at all. Chloe Sevigny is running circles around her in talking about true actresses. All Kim can talk about is the glam styles and looks of actresses, she knows nothing sbout the craft and techniques of acting. Thank God they didn't pair her with Meryl Streep. Kim seemed very stiff. Not relax at all. Aware of her movements. I don't know if it's the makeup or botox or something. Just no natural movement...sadly. Her eyes and face hardly move so it comes off robotic. Difficult to be an actress when you're limited on making facial expressions. Unlike Chloe where you see every reaction. Way more relatable. Enjoyable to see. She's takes her craft to another level every time.

I was curious what the comments would be saying. I just wish Chloë could have had a partner that is just as interested in cinema as her. I thought I'd see a "new side" of Kim but (spoiler alert) there is none. To her acting and films is just another job/project she can cross out of her to do list... And there's Chloë with full of passion and love for acting she'd love to share with a fellow actor, who is just as excited about films as her.

Kim preps for everything except for real human interaction. Chloe had significant questions, provided insightful answers of her own, allowed Kim her space to get her answers out, and was just very knowledgeable about the craft. No one can knock Kim for the media empire she's built but when you're coming into a new field and speaking to someone so accomplished in it, wouldn't you want to ask about more than the one project and the fashion in it? I think she's not very comfortable speaking to people who won't immediately echo her thoughts and/or agree with her opinions. i hope once Kim has more acting experience, her interactions with her acting peers can improve. 2/10 interview pairing.

Her talking about wearing archive pieces or old pieces from stars who have passed away rubbed me the wrong way. It would have been more interesting if they got really honest and maybe asked Kim what she thinks about people not taking her acting seriously and the fact that she has a lot to learn and needs to grow a lot if she wants to be successful. All in all this interview was a poor match and very odd that they thought this would be a good idea at all. Chole is a good sport

Exactly this; it was impossible for Chloe to ever really get to talk about craft or choices she made for her characters because the person sitting opposite her couldn't have that exchange. I really don't even blame Kim, but Variety (and all the other outlets, Ryan Murphys, etc) who put her in these spaces well out of her depth.

Not opposed to getting Kim, but would it have been too much to ask that you wait for her to take on a bit more experience than just ONE ROLE before she's on Actors on Actors, which typically have people who have dedicated their lives to the profession? Like at least wait til her lawyer show that she keeps talking about airs so we have more substance than her talking about growing up in LA, while Chloë tries to downplay her Oscar nominated movies, and critically acclaimed/cult roles.
