Perhaps THE best instructional video I've ever watched. Clear, concise and well-spoken with excellent editing. The pace was perfect. At no point did I feel the need to fast forward or pause (yet). This guy is obviously good at what he does. With this sort of support I am compelled to have this kit for my Micro-Nine. Well done !

Hey M*CARBO great work with this new and improved Kimber Micro 9 Trigger Spring kit. This is MASTERGUNS, retired USMC & six time Marine Corps shooting champion and 2017 American Marksman Southwest Regional Champion (Military/Law Enforcement Division) Clark County Shooting Complex Las Vegas, NV. I just installed your Kimber Micro 9 Trigger Spring Kit and it performs just as advertised. The Kimber Micro 9 is a great weapon system and ya'll did a great job of overcoming the primary drawback for this particular weapon system. Thanks for making good weapon systems better. Five Stars! Great work guys. Keep after it. It's good to be a member of the M*CARBO Brotherhood.

This kit does exactly what it says. My new 9 felt even a little "gritty" on the trigger pull, which would have probably worked out over time. This kit smoothed everything up, and made the trigger snap and break quickly, like it should. Very nice upgrade, if you're already spending that much on a Kimber, lol. I got their polishing kit too, for the feed ramp. I will try not to turn my 9 into a .45 with it... Oh, here's a tip: if you're having trouble seating the S curved doodad in place between the seer spring and the trigger bar, use a tiny bit of paper you've put a tiny bit of spit on to help your needle nose grip the S doodad. Mine kept slipping on several pairs of decent needle nose, till I got some paper to bushing the pliers grip on the darn thing. I wonder how many edits it took that fellow up there to get it on the "first try"... haha :) Thanks for a great product. Here's an upthrump for your video!

Just installed the MCarbo Kit on my Micro 9- I spent 3 hours and 35 attempts to get the sear and disconnector reinstalled with the new sear spring- that's with a lighted magnifier and a locking needlenose pliers...and then the sear was still out of position. It was a nightmare for me trying to do it that way. I reinstalled by removing the hammer spring assembly, removing the sear spring, and NOT removing the sear and disconnector. I used my finger on the disconnector to move the disconnector and sear as far forward as possible against the trigger bar. I reinstalled the sear spring and rotated it slightly and it fit behind the sear and disconnector. I used my other hand to seat the base of the sear spring into the slot and reinstalled the hammer spring assembly. Took two minutes and works perfectly...Makes a huge difference on the trigger pull...Great product! ...and this is not a criticism of the video- I know it's very difficult doing videos for so many different firearms...:)

Great upgrade for the Micro 9 - didn't even bother to fire it before I put this kit in and also swapped the grips for the nice Hogue models. I didn't like the stock trigger, so I figured there was no reason to get "used to it" - might as well fix it from the get go. ;) Your video is really done well - nice to see come focus and details about the whole process - really made it easy (until the dang sear reassembly part!) LOL. I struggled trying to get the dang sear back into place - just really hard to hold it with needle-nose pliers, push the spring back, not drop the ejector out, etc.. I was getting a bit frustrated as my eyes are not as good as they used to be and even with better glasses, was having issues. So, I studied it a bit and decided it was easier to put the sear in first, get the pin through it (most of the way) and then put the ejector in. This went in the first time - much easier than the opposite approach (for me). Maybe it was because I could position the sear a lot easier without the ejector in place. Anyway, just wanted to give some of you an alternate way to get past this little tricky part of the install . . . everything else a man with 10 thumbs could do. Thanks guys, I'm a believer in the M*CARBO product line!

Having just recently purchased a Micro 9, that I’m totally satisfied with, sent 100 rounds through yesterday finally, at 5,10,15 an 25 yards. The very first round at 5 yards went right through the middle of the bull!! All other shot groups, out to 15 yards were in an 8” group. At 25 yards, all shots within center mass on half scale silhouette. So overall better right out of the box then all my others, Glock, Sig and FN. The only issue is the heavy trigger and hammer. So this kit is very interesting!! My only question is there truly a necessity to remove the extractor an sear, when replacing the flat trigger spring? Looks like you could just slide it up into position? No? I’m gonna wait to buy the whole kit, till I get an answer, but it really does look like you can leave them in place and just feed the flat seat spring up behind them. Thanks for your time and advice. Stay safe and healthy!

Chris. I just installed my kit in my Micro 9. The slide spring was a breeze. The trigger spring was straight forward; I'd recommend a vice to hold the hammer spring housing. The toughest part was the reinstallation of the sear and ejector. After 1/2 hour of angst, I tried to install the sear first. This worked well. I held the trigger bar down so that the sear spring would be more exposed. Then I inserted the sear between the trigger bar and the sear spring. I was easy to then insert the pin in the sear. Then I placed the ejector in between the trigger bar and sear spring, and then pushed the pin right through. This was much easier. You may want to try this. Overall, I experienced a 27% trigger puller reduction, from 9.1 to 6.6 pounds. Next, I'll take it to the range.

The Micro 9 trigger kit is great. The newest model has that nasty 7 pound pull. I installed all springs, and now it's at 3-4 pound pull. Love it, thanks... FYI, I did not remove the ejector or sear. The sear spring can easily be installed bypassing that step. TIP: A headlamp flashlight will help you out big time. Money well spent. Thanks for your service and for making great products that actually work... unlike other companies :-D Any thin rubber grips in the works? HOGUE Grips have a FAT bottom which loses the guns thin frame design that I like for pocket carry.

Really nice! The improvement is significant. It's down to around 3 poulds I think. I'll take it to the range tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have any 9mm with really hard primers, and for reloading I only have Remington primers. I don't think the lighter hammer spring will cause a problem because it goes through a full swing every time.

Thanks for this video. I disassembled and eliminated every reason why my hammer was stuck in the cocked position. It turns out the hammer was pinched on the serrations by the beavertail. It looks like the gun in your video has a thicker design in that area. ;) It took a half hour for me to get the seer and ejector back in, like building a ship in a bottle.

I just installed this kit on my Micro 9 Raptor. If you know how to detail strip a 1911, this is almost identical and pretty straight forward. If you've never done that, this video does a good job of walking you through the process. If you have an ambidextrous safety like my Raptor, getting the safety out and back in is a little different. And Kimber 1911 ambi safeties are different from other brands. This one on my Micro 9 Raptor is pretty much like my Ultra CDP II. There are videos you can find on Kimber ambi safeties if it gives you any trouble. Just be gentle. When it wants to come out, or go in, it'll go. If it won't go, something isn't lined up right. Be patient the first time or two and you'll get it.

Mine is not the Raptor but I am having an issue, I can't get it out, it won't go back far enough like at 12:15 in this video.

@@bobcee501 mine wouldn't either. Bring it back forward more than is shown in the vid. I'm not looking at it right now so I'm trying to picture how it came off. I think if you push it forward a far enough, the off-side safety will come off the the pin that holds it up against the frame. Then the off-side safety can be pulled out. That gives you more wiggle room to get the strong-side off.

@@mikegoodwin2386 Thanks for the info, mine is not ambidextrous just a safety latch on left side.

@@bobcee501 Oh, ok. Mine comes out a little futher forward than shown in the video. I'm not sure if that's specific to the ambi safety or if the design has changed slightly. Just don't force it. Try rotating it around to different positions while putting pressure on it to see where it comes out. Experiment with wiggling the hammer too.

Installation on MICRO 9 RAPIDE BLACK ICE. I got my spring kit and installed it today (8-18-21). I was able to install the new sear spring without removing the safety or the sear and disconnector. The safety lever I simply rotated up and out of the way leaving it attached to the frame. While It took a little bit of maneuvering, I was able to properly position the new spring behind the sear and disconnector without disassembling them. My gun works great and I'm now enjoying a lighter trigger pull. I would definitely recommend this product.

Soooo much better trigger. Mine came at almost 7# from the factory. Horrible. I hated it. Installed the kit and polished everything while I was in there. Now it's a consistent 2.5#. I wish I would have seen this video yesterday when I had a surprise extra sear spring in the kit and had to figure it out on my own. Thanks guys

Heck of a lot easier if you install the extractor and sear first and then insert the sear spring behind them, then hold it down with a finger inside the magazine well and then install the hammer spring assembly. I spent an hour chasing the sear around the room trying to do it the video way. Had I had a vice, lots of lights and three hands maybe I could emulate the video. One thing to remember is the guy in the video has done this a couple hundred times.

Great video. For anyone (else) who thinks that this kit will also work on the oh so similar, but not quite similar enough, Springfield Armory 911 380 and 911 9mm, it will not. Close, but no cigar. My bad.

After a couple hours trying to get the ejector and the sear installed using needle nose, I figured there must be a better way! With an empty magazine in the gun, you can pull the trigger, pushing the sear spring back and then hold it back with a jig - I used a small piece of wood, carefully shaved to the proper dimension, which is about 3/16ths square. When the trigger is released, there is a slot left between the trigger rod and the sear spring. Next, I found an easier way to install both the ejector and the sear together by using a short rod made from a small nail. This rod holds the ejector and the sear together while you lower them into the slot between the trigger rod and the retracted sear spring. Done this way, it took me only one try and less than 5 minutes to easily put these most difficult pieces back together. If the kit were to contain a small plastic block of the correct dimension to hold back the spring and a tiny plastic pin to hold the ejector and the sear together so they can be lowered into position together, it would be GREAT! If the tiny pin were colored plastic, say bright red, you would be able to see that in the hole the pivot pin goes into and you would quickly know when you had it in the exact position. Push in the factory pin and it pushes out the tiny temporary pin. Presto, it's like magic!!

I have the raptor, and since I couldn't figure out how to remove the ambi safety, I just left it in there, and didn't have a problem getting the install done (other than getting that tiny piece lined up lol)

I had to wrap my needle nose plyers with some black medical tape to keep that small piece from sliding out of my plyers every time. That was literally the only real difficult part, but with some time and some curse words I got it done.

It’s a great product, just installed mine and the end results are not to be believed. Excellent video and product. Found a 22lb recoil spring, pain in the ass to install but it’s sweet. One suggestion. Install sear before injector. So much easier and time saving. Trust me, I’m an American Paratrooper 😃

My micro9 experiences a few misfires only with IMI die-cut ammo, which I hear have hard primers. Seems like a lighter hammer spring would just exacerbate the problem, and maybe even cause some misfires on other brands of ammo. I use Sig Sauer ammo for carry, which is reliable and accurate in my stock pistol.

Just installed the kit. No big deal at all. The stupid safety detent shot out on me, and the search was on. Without that, it would have been approximately 30 minutes to get everything done. I went from a average of 6lbs 2.6oz, down to 2lbs 5.5oz.. very smooth and a much better feel. However, I may put the factory sear spring back in. I like my carry guns to be around 3.5-4lbs. No complaints a about the kit though. Thanks for this video also. I'm not sure it would have been so simple of a job without the video.

I just installed this kit in the wife's Micro 9 ESV. Start to finish it took the length of the video, plus about 5 mins of pause time. Super easy and totally worth it. Before, the pull was way too long and there was a slight "grind" feel on the take up. Now the pull is shorter, lighter, and the break feels crisper. I don't personally shoot this gun but the wife was very happy with the results. We highly recommend this upgrade!

Good production value on this informative video. However, I was only able to reduce the trigger pull about a pound. Wheeler trigger pull scale for factory springs was 7.7 pounds average of five. M*Carbo springs average was 6.7. One factor may be that I had only fired about 50 rounds before doing the trigger job. It appears that the Micro 9 in the video may have had a polished sear tip and hammer notch. I may look into doing that.

installed new updated trigger kit in my micro 9. went from 9lb down to 41/2lb putting back together was a nightmare putting sear back in place with needlenose plier keep slipping off plus lining up pin hole. but the outcome was worth it. would recommend having gunsmith do it.
