A review on my Kimber Mountain Ascent chambered in A 280 Ackley Improved. This ia an incredibly accurate rifle for a factory rifle. It is extremely lightweight coming in at 7 lbs 5ounces with a Nightforce compact 2.5-10x42 scope. Watch the review and you will see how accurate this rifle really is. I have the 308 too loves federal trophy bonded 180 grains haven’t found anything else it really likes. What are you running in yours?

@@OutsidetheEchochamber Loves Hornady Precision Hunter178 ELD-X seems to prefer 180 grain's but i picked up some Barnes Vortex 168 to try haven't run them yet i use that ammo in a couple rifles

Wish I could get my Kimber to shoot like that. I have a 280 AI also, not the Kimber which is 300WSM. My AI shoots 168 Bergers really well though.

Neat setup! A friend of mine has the same rifle in 280 AI and it shoots 5/8” groups with 150 Accubonds at 2965 fps. He loves it, but pronghorn, mulies, and elk aren’t fans. 🤠

Hi, yes it did not end well for the animals that stood in front of that rifle. Lol. It shot very well for a factory rifle. Mine shot the Accubonds very well too , it liked the 160s. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, take care.

Good job on that grizzly ! Forget the bear spray ! 280ai is a better choice!

Hi Matt, yes bear spray is just for a last resort if I can't get to my rifle. The 280ai was the only option in this case. a warning shot only aggravated it more, he was coming for us. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.

Question on the barrel tape, do you take it off before you shoot?. If not do you notice a point of impact shift?

Hi, in the video my first shot has the tape on it. The pressure of the gasses remove the tape before the bullet exits your barrel. It does not affect your accuracy at all. I have shot all my animals in the last 25 years with tape on the barrel. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care, my friend.

Sweet shooter Al. I use tape on the end as well, keeps the crap out. I've been shopping 338Lapua. Best of all, I can find ammo! I talked directly with Federal, all ammo produced is going to the military. They have some contractors making ammo for us guys who like to shoot and hunt, but they can't keep up with the demand. Everyone is spooked about what's going on overseas. Damn!!

@@bcextremeoutdoorsman The reason I ask is I have a Montana in 280AI and the same scope and brand of rings but with the rings I have I can’t use the little knob for the power adjustment because my bolt handle will hit it and I see you don’t have that problem any help would be appreciated Thank you

@@bcextremeoutdoorsman Thats a good powder for alright. I have the Kimber subalpine im running reloader 26 and the 168 grain nosler long range.

@@sakocat Yes, that powder works great. In all my years of reloading I have never tried any Reloader powders. I hear its great powder.
