Louisa Downs station in the East Kimberleys is an Aboriginal owned and run cattle station. The stockmen are crack horsemen and do things the old way. This video was shot in 1992.

A great video. Beautiful closing scenes. The aboriginal stockmen I've worked with were always kind to their horses and this video brings back pleasant memories. So glad you captured these scenes for posterity. 🙏🏆

This is a great video. I was in stock camps up that way in the late 70s and early 80s and this is such an “authentic” record that it is great that you have uploaded it for us to see.

Thanks for this vignette. I particularly enjoyed the glimpse we had of trouble brewing with the grey on which the ringer took a short rein 'in the old way' (at 3:29). I would have loved seeing him throw a leg!
