No, it was demonstrated with Knifehead (the kaiju that originally put gypsy out of commission) where the kaiju started demonstrating that they knew about the pilots if you watch Knifehead's fight you can see he deliberately goes after the head. though it should be mentioned that prior to newt drifiting with the kaiju brain, Kaiju's only had defensive weapons. the EMP and acid were the first demonstrations of Kaiju's having offensive weapons

Acid for Cherno to break through armour, long tail to stay away and dispatch Crimson, EMP for Stryker and any other Jaegers around. The precursors didn’t account for Gypsy as it was out of commission at the time of the drift. Gypsy was the only other Jaeger they could send because it’s nuclear powered

because they didn't have any counters against it. those two were basically made for Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon and Cherno. that's why they lost so easily.

it´s actually a war horn, in the novelization of this movie says that it is like the cry of the kaiju, it was made to attract the kaiju´s attention and thus they will stop destroying the city and focus on the jaegers

Sequels had many unexplored characters, a Mary Sue who made the villains seem lame, bad world building and an unclear vision which I really can't really fault it for though as JJ Abrams had a plan which Rian promptly ruined. Prequels are better imo.

@@druvbopanna5879 the structure of the jaeger had yet to support that so yeah it would be cool especially the plasma cannon + elbow rocket = plasma smash, but it would possibly destroy/explode the entire arm like a huge plasma bomb. It might inflict a great damage but it could be a suicide bomb

Gipsy fired like 2 or 3 shots at Knifehead's body, but because they thought it was dead, they kept they're worries aside and then, BAM! Still alive. Same here in their battle with Leatherback, they just wanted to make sure because he didn't wanna relive they're (referring with his brother) mistake, but i'd say it's still too much to blast 20 more holes in its body knowing that it is already severely and critically wounded and with its arm gone.

Well, Striker Eureka was shutdown by Leather´s EMP, they said "Let´s check for pulse", they didn´t want to end up like Eureka, shut down while another Kaiju is rampaging in the city.

Well Striker had strength just not on par with Gipsy, I always thought the designs of the jaegers were well thought out and representative of their individual characteristics. Gipsy is an all rounder

They were nuking them before the Jaegers and it wasn't effective. It took three nukes to kill Trespasser and then they learned nukes were becoming ineffective because a Kaiju didn't fall for their trap to lure it out of Sydney and nuke it, instead it ignored the lure and continued rampaging in Sydney. Brawler Yukon proved the Jaegers were a more effective tool because it killed the kaiju Karloff with a single missile barrage and one punch.

That would be awesome. I honestly thought that Pacific Rim: The Black was going to be something like that, a history of various Jaegers around the world. It could be a very interesting way to show the various pilots, the advancement in Jaeger technology and Kaiju Biology over the years The final episode could be dedicated to Gispy Danger, showing his first deployments and that Jaeger team-up battle they mentioned in the movie.

It would of been awesome and depressing by the sounds of it.

Uprising has a awesome CGI even better than first Movie. But actors and Plot development of Uprising was not in the Same Level as the first Movie.

They all look the same like what maybe it wasn’t crappy cgi maybe that is how they wanted those kanju and those Yeagers to looks like
