Mother’s Day is a chance to honor the women who gave us life, who love us, who leave us long voicemails and send us nonsensical texts. Jimmy loves these texts, so we went around the office and had people on our staff read some real texts from their moms.

+Chipwhitley274 I think she is either trying to make her son feel bad he didnt fix her DVD stuff for her and is trying to make him jealous OR....she is explaining all the details because she wants him to fix it when she can't make it work. Trust me; there is at least another chapter to this story in the form of a request.

All of my mom's texts start with my name. I reply "yes" and THEN she texts whatever it was she was gonna tell me. I've told her many times she can go right to the point, but she doesn't understand. It's like she is making sure it's really me she is about to text.

I talk to my mother everyday on the phone and spend around 40mins every time, she get older and lonely 😭 she needs this. So every time she talks too much I just told myself I am the son and I have to listen.

When my mother, Eileen, succumbed to dementia, I found this piece of an envelope where she had drafted a message, possibly for my birthday. "i came in here at 36.....it so you dont mean.
