Cnut would never have dared speak to the real Prince Edmund Ironside (yes the vikings called him Ironside because he was such a great warrior) in such a manner, this show turned one of the greatest warriors in Saxon history into a childish weakling. The real Edmund was a ferocious warrior who won battle after battle against the Vikings and he would have won the war against Cnut if he hadn't been betrayed by the Mercians. These Viking shows sure like to piss on the Anglo Saxons portrayed them as weak for no reason. Cnut actually deeply respected Edmund and visited and honoured his grave.

They did the king so badly in this God awful show. Cnut's greatest enemy reduced to a shit Joffrey. In real life they were the same age, their war dragged on and on killing many. Cnut could not defeat him.

Thought after Ragnor died in season 4 or 5 it wasn't as good any more, it was like ok not great at all, but not crap, just didn't really care about nearly all the characters, this show is ok not great , like that leif warrior the explorer guy he is ok

Knud was already one of the greatest Viking, long before Ragnar gain his popularity by the TV series. And his achievements are far greater than that of Ragnar’s. So I wouldn’t say he’s a discount.
