British soldiers are not required to do foot drill unless they are on parade in public. I did basic training and did about 1 hour per day. That was when we had an army. 😕

Even if she manage to remain a royal or stick with Charles and became Queen. She wouldn't have this honour either, it's in the Sovereign honor, not his consort, and Diana if she became a Queen it would be as a consort really.

The specific tune that starts at 19:16 is that of a traditional Welsh lullaby, 'Suo Gân'. It became well‐known for its use in Steven Spielberg's movie 'Empire of the Sun'. However, the music that accompanies the Inspection of the parade by the monarch and official party is usually a medley of tunes appropriate to the occasion, arranged by the Director of Music of the band of the regiment that is trooping the colour. In this case, it was the Welsh Guards who were trooping the colour, and the music for the Inspection included some Welsh tunes.

@@kennethgarland4712It's an arrangement called Welsh Spirit by Lt. Col. Lauren Petritz-Watts, composed when she was Director of Music for the Band of the Welsh Guards. She was the first female to be a director of music in the Household Division and to have a composition featured in the Birthday Parade.

Why are these parading soldiers not "dressing their lines"?? The uneven ranks make these soldiers look sloppy and unprofessional at marching. As a U.S. Marine (Veteran), myself, it is considered to be slovenly and undisciplined to have crooked lines when marching. That's one of the first things we learned in boot camp........how to march. Jus' sayin'.

Well the standards are crashing at best. Comparing this with the parades in the 80s, or better the 30s-60s, you can really see a difference in the drill. Today, the soldiers aren’t even of the same height, and some can’t even hold their rifles straight during the salute. I, as a civilian, had tried doing the British rifle salute. It really isn’t that hard to stay consistent, and it really makes me wonder just wtf are the guards doing in rehearsals.
