Too funny. They did have the option of just answering the question. In an alternate universe: Interviewer: How is the new KC different to the old one? Robert or Bill: It's heavier, more complex and more experimental, with more emphasis on improvisations and less emphasis on melody.

I suppose, if we're solely talking about the albums of the old KC. The original King Crimson, as a live act, might have been the most experimental they ever were.

Hearing Fripp describing Crimso as a "true democratic" band is like a dictator talking about freedom hehehe Nevertheless he's right after all. This Crimso was particularly fond on collective improvisation and each member could influence on the direction taken equally.

Bill the _looker_ is a great drummer! His career is a real success in my view, not too ostentatious, lots of class, and heaps of creative FUN! Seeing him play live with Earthworks. ABWH, and Crimson convinced me of this. He, and Belew were a BLAST!

Bill Bruford is sitting right next to him, literally. For real, though, I see him as an eccentric guy, but that just adds to his authenticity, I feel
@SpiralDream
@SpiralDream 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah he's conceited, but the music he put out in the mid 70s pretty much gives him a license to kill as far as i'm concerned. Newer prog bands are more pretentious as they can't even come remotely close to what the original bands were doing, all while putting the same image of grandiosity. Bands like Dream Theater and Mars Volta are essentially a joke in comparison.
