I'm a rockhead and never cared too much for hip hop, but I enjoy the hell out of Gangsta's Paradise. The song has been on my playlist for years, and it never gets old. Such a classic song. I love the lyrics, the delivery, the chorus. It's perfect.

Mainstream "rap"* is shit. Check out NF.
@FriezaDBZKing694 жыл бұрын
@@MDDeGrande1994 this song was mainstream and it's fantastic. Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Biggie, 2pac, NWA, and pretty much any other major rapper artists from the '80s to early '00s were or are mainstream, and it's their music that defined an entire generation of artists. Not that underground trash that pops up now.

I don't usually listen to rap, but this was one of my "go to" songs that I listened to a ton growing up. It gives me chills as well. I love that bass line, and I love the way he delivers the lyrics. It's fun to sing along to. I also loved that movie, Dangerous Minds, as a kid. I was born in 91 and in the late 90's I remember having this music video, along with Weird Al's parody, recorded on a VHS. I watched it repeatedly. I started binging on the song again when I was 18 and had a sub system in my truck. Seems like I remember a lot of people making fun of Coolio, so I was too embarrassed to let anyone catch me listening to it.

I was in high school when it came out. First time hearing it I started saving money to get the cd (still have it too). If it came out now it probable wouldn't be popular. It's too real, and people now don't like it when reality puts a icy grip on there heart.

Master Piece for sure, even the back round vocals are bad ass. If this was on the radio today it would POP all over. My kids love most music from this time.
