Nice well rounded review. I agree that Oak is the current leader. I like Bare Steel because if I remember correctly they will customize it to your logo, but that put it way out of my checkbook range... lol.

Thanks for watching. Yeah Baresteel will customize logo or even custom engraved them for you but that doubles or triples the price of them. My discount code doesn’t help much there. If I wanted those custom I would just buy the regular ones and replace the sticker with my own logo, but I think you already know that hack.

@@carps_gym Seems to come naturally. I was glad to learn the v3 of these have strong magnets. Do I remember right that v3 is also longer? Or am I mixing up Oak with SS?

Yeah looks like they discontinued those, but now I see why these are much better quality. I actually sold my stainless head ones to a guy that already had 3-4 sets of them

Good overview. Thank you. Since you teased the other pins I was expecting a roundup at the end with a bit or a compare and contrast to validate their “GOAT” status. They work for every attachment scenario, as you mentioned, the only exception that I found is with Vendetta Strength Trolley Arm Brackets where you need a bit more usable length, so by default I just bought Vendetta’s longer 1” Magpins (and they are of high quality too, particularly for printed head, but no where near the refinement of the Oak Club machined ones). - Chicken Nugget aka RogueCrusher

That’s was the plan from the beginning when I started this series but more and more options kept coming out at different prices ranges. I love premium stuff to whenever I can, but I also know there are much more people that want something more budget friendly. Still need to cover a few other brands to make it as thorough as possible and then I’ll probably call it. It can’t spends thousands on just mag pins reviews lol or can I 🤷🏻♂️

I have the steadfast. They're ok. Rep gave me 4 decent ones with my utility seat. So it's hard to justify buying more. What other companies are making mag pins?

@@carps_gym Straydog has an adapter to turn a regular hitch pin into a magnetic hitch pin and I think sells some pins with the magnetic adapter pre-installed.

@@fwiffo42 yeah but I don’t count those because there are still hitch pins. You have to modify them and they recommend cut the plastic off to make them fit. Those are also with a hair pin or Linchpin design. The Idea of a magnetic pin is to be more low profile and eliminate the big red or orange tractor supply looking handles and not need a detent ball to pin to secure it , as well to be faster to use.

@@carps_gym Yeah, they're not the best option unless you're ordering something else from them to save on shipping. I picked up a set that I use with my Rogue band pegs. That was a better use than what they showed on their site, IMO.

I got the normal Magpin from surplus strength yesterday. Unfortunately I ended up being very disappointed as I didn’t read the specs properly. The shaft is not metal like the XL version and the oak / bare steel ones you demo’d 😢. (The XL are out of stock)… First regretful purchase I’ve made in awhile but that’s what I get for buying once I saw they were in stock without a dedicated review.

@@Gnoll-1337 yeah I really like the XL ones. But the regular are pretty strong too. It’s not recommended for weight bearing attachments but Jake from Garage Gym Experiment tested them on his monolift arms with over 900 pounds and they held up fine. I also use them in my Surplus Strength UPS system high and low and haven’t had any issues. What are you using them for? I prefer the XL ones because they’re more versatile but there are some attachments that only the small ones will fit on. That’s why I’m trying to review all these to help you out with things like that. It just takes a lot of time to get all these videos done, editing them, and buy all the equipment. If you really need some hit me up maybe we can work something out.
