I'm wondering about the lifespan of the horses. These poor animals are put into a lot of stress, without moving for hours

Ah but the holidays are fantastic, Norfolk for two weeks, running free in fields, a retirement plan in place. Best fodder and veterinary care. They are there no longer than 1 hour at a time.

Why do the tourists have to go the horse guards and touch the horses despite the notice on the wall warning them not to. If the horse is startled she can bolt or kick and many people can be injured.

I get it; I do…. But for horse and soldier to stand there on guard for what is really now a photo op is redundant. Safety to the horse and soldier should be priority not tourists holding the horse reins (which let’s be honest is done on purpose to get a response for their own social forum . They are serving, honorable soldiers not just the human but the horses and need to be respected as such. They don’t need to deal with obnoxious tourists. This ritual just needs to update and go away and do something new to keep all safe.
