Kh3 has the only bad opening of the 3 main games but is the best over all game in terms of story and the way they conclude the Xehanort saga was incredible. Spoiler warning prepare for one hell of a tragic death among one of the main 3 of Sora, Kairi, and Riku.

The animation in this intro is over 20 years old and somehow, by some miracle, it aged like fine, fine paupo fruit wine. The character designs, the lighting, even the scenery manages to all be stellar, even without tools we have in the 2020s like Unreal Engine. I can't overstate how much I love this cutscene; it's truly a masterpiece.

It had such a weirdly intense impact on me as a kid. Like it’s almost hard to describe how deeply this is embedded into my subconscious lol, It’s almost foundational. I’ve heard the same from other kids i know that played this at a young age Funny, looking back now from a more objective POV it’s just a corny dance beat with some catchy vocals and some uncanny CGI visuals. But god damn did this blow my mind at the time. It kind of changed my whole life in a weird way lmao. Idk, hard to describe

You aren’t alone. I’m 30 now and this still brings me back to a lot. I was very protective with my friends and family before the game and I was even more so after this game and have been since. I tend to put faith in myself and partners in everything we do now and it’s always worked out lol this game subconsciously changed me mentally, emotionally and spiritually and hasn’t been a game like it since.

@@Arkanemacht actually Sora came into existence because the designers couldn’t decide on whether the player character should be Donald or Mickey, so they made a new character with a design based on Mickey. The compromise for Donald I’m guessing is that they made him the most powerful mage in SquareEnix’s pantheon of characters.

I might just be crazy but at 2:42 when he’s down in the darkness on the platform it gives me such nostalgic vibes. Just the tone of those synthesizers have that early 2000’s trippy electronic feel to them, and it makes me feel reminiscent of those old Halo 1 maps that are dark and futuristic feeling, along with the Xbox, PS2, and GameCube main menus. There’s a part of me that wishes I could go back to that era when I was just in elementary school and be in total chill mode with that same cool/trippy yet relaxing music in a dark room playing video games with my friends or by myself. I may not be making sense though but hopefully someone understands what I mean.

I remember when I first saw the trailer for kingdom hearts 1 , I remember when Disney channel introduced it. I can still hear the trailers song within my mind to this day. With the revalation of the 3rd kingdom hearts, I was hit with so much nostalgia. I've missed these older games.

Those PS1 - PS2 era intros were something different. The anticipation of putting in the disc to a game you’ve been waiting for(finally convinced your parents to get it for you or finally saved up enough to buy it yourself) and being mesmerized by the opening FMV. MGS2, Final Fantasy VIII, Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, Onimusha 3, Silent Hill 1 & 2, Soul Calibur II type vibes...miss those days

All these years later and this intro STILL gives me chills and leaves the hairs standing up on the back of my neck (just like it did the very first time I saw it)................. it doesn't matter that I was 20 when Kingdom Hearts originally came out............. Just like it doesn't matter that I'm 40 now............... I will ALWAYS love Kingdom Hearts.

I just started playing kingdom hearts (through the remixes) and dude, this game is so amazing, definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played, the story, the gameplay, characters, disney, etc everything is so magic, I’m currently playing 2.5 remix

Same, well more so in 2021 when I was repeatedly watching it in collage. I'm 30 now and remember playing this game. "I been having these weird thoughts lately. Is any of this for real, or not?" It's a game that tucks away somewhere away from everything, personal in.... age, childhood or adulthood. And the creator who made this put something in it. And I quite admire it more do now.
