Starting out kh2 as Roxas was one of the most mysterious and intriguing intros if you don’t have the context of chain of memories

There was so much incentive back then to showcase the power of the console and graphics of your games. Once there was no need to showcase your graphics, animated movies became a luxury.

When Roxas is introduced in this opening, and you already know his and Ventus's entire story, you feel really sad, knowing why he is so confused and lost as to why he is where he is, and where exactly he is. His facial expressions are of confusion, lost, and shock. And it just makes you feel really sad, and you just want to crawl into the story and hug him to tell him it'll all be ok, knowing it won't, which is the worst part about it.

Personally I feel like Roxas' story is more tragic than Ventus'. At least we know Ven is going to wake up soon who knows what's going to happen to Roxas and Xion.

@@jordancardona7105 friends go missing, you must find yo friends. also, everyone is losing their hearts, literally and figuratively, to the plans of the villains. so you use a key that opens people’s hearts, literally and figuratively, in hopes of fighting off the dark, whilst finding and saving your friends in the process.

@@lamebagels9927 The villians is also alternate versions of you and your friends, but they are also friends so they not really that bad except for some other alternate versions. (There are multiple versions) So you must find other friends which include but not limited to a talking dog, a mage duck and a mysterious mouse which cover his face but can be recognized just from his voice. Did I mention all of them could talk? Travel across different worlds and help to solve their problem which is linked to your problem which would never happen if a war for an all powerful key didn't happen a few centuries ago. Oh, the participants of that war is also still alive if you wondering....some of them. And we don't even know who actually have that key. Did I also mention time is irrelevant since different world progress time differently? But it is relevant to the war since it happened long ago for whatever world you are in. Grab your keyblade, open up the door of darkness and get ready for an adventure full of complicated concept, power of friendship, and full of people with pure heart and heartless people.(literally and figuratively)

Nostalgia. I could make a comment about how much older I am compared to then... but the fact is we all are. It's sad, but I'm thankful for the experiences I've gained since then. Thanks, Kingdom Hearts.

I was 11 when the first kingdom hearts came out, now I’m 30. It’s a little sad the characters stay trapped in their age but I get for that it’s probably for marketing purposes.
