Sorry, Roxas! Your bad luck has influenced me. I had to reupload this because apparently KZfaq decided to randomly cut the very last minute out of the original episode. This episode was uploaded yesterday and was perfectly fine until a few hours ago, when some of you noticed how the video couldn't get past 47:20. I had to render it and upload it all over again, hopefully that something weird like this won't happen again.
It never happened to see a fully uploaded video to be randomly shortened with no reasons on the next day.
Even KZfaq doesn't want people to watch the "Looks like my summer vacation is over" part.

About KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE:
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware - the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.
Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible -due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such- just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.
Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this - content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga - and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. Same here, but that occurred a couple of hours ago and it didn't seem to get fixed by itself. Since Episode 91 is uploading right now and we need to move on, I couldn't wait and hope for KZfaq to get it fixed.

It's amazing the difference in power between Roxas and Axel.. I mean Roxas is half a person with access to barely half of his strength here and he still whoops his ass with relative ease, I mean Roxas isn't even panting after the fight..

Oh shit, that means my heartfelt comment where I poured my feelings is lost to the ether now, doesn’t it? Lol, long-story-short, I always loved Roxas as a character, after going through a bad break-up and lots of loss over the last few years I’ve really begun to identify with him, I feel a sort of kinship with him, and this project has only served to make that arc and that connection all the more meaningful. So thank you Everglow, for making this series and doing this character some justice in a way that the original works just couldn’t do on their own. I look forward to seeing the rest of Sora’s journey continue and to see what other neat little touches and twists you’ll add over the next month and a half. Even though it won’t be as much as Days, I’m still really looking forward to seeing what you do with Re:Coded the most. There’s definitely some key battles that I would love to see given life in that HD modded magic you’ve made yourself famous for now. Like most of the late-game stuff from Hollow Bastion-onward, that stuff deserves the Everglow touch, everything else would probably work ok as either vanilla or upscaled DS footage. But enough wish-lists for now, I’m really excited to see one of the coolest sequels in action once again, with a cool new twist!

I think Kingdom Hearts II is one of the best in the series so far. The characters, worlds, storyline, gameplay, and overall atmosphere.

I love Roxas' story, as tragic as it is. It always makes me feel something deep down for him and I love how this whole timeline has portrayed him, thank you ^^. OH and I loved the little Xion moment snuck in during Roxas' and Axel's final battle ;)

It was this intro that helped to not only solidify KH2 as one of the best games in the series, but also solidify the series as one of the best games I've ever played. It's honestly such a ballsy decision to make the intro as depressing as it is, especially for a game that's just supposed to be a fun crossover with Final Fantasy and Disney. Man I love this game.

And so, I have reached this point of the Timeline, and my breath has been taken away. Everglow, you and your team have devoted so much of your time, no doubt made personal sacrifices to ensure that we, the fans, are able to enjoy the most comprehensive, easy to understand way of learning or refreshing on the lore of the Kingdom Hearts series! What you and your team have done is unparalleled, and the Days arc had my jaw dropped on the floor like you had no idea! The modded fights, everything you did to bring that extra flare to Days's story really made it shine, and I can see why you loved working on that part of the Timeline so much! It truly shines! And now, at Episode 90, we fully bring Roxas's arc to a close, and now Kingdom Hearts II begins in earnest! Only two more games to go, and then it's off to Kingdom Hearts III! I'm ready to end this journey, and walk along with you to the end of the road! Because every step forward will always be a step closer to home! :3

You’d think episode 88’s last part would get shortened because of Sanctuary. That’s why on a lot of videos with the full 358/2 Days movie, they add something else along with it to distort Sanctuary.

When I played this, I was quite little and couldn't connect much with the game on emotional level. But after watching the last part again when I'm older now, somehow my heart breaks a little. Must be because of all the comments I've read about Roxas, but it is also because I suddenly think that this is a character you will not play again. That was then. And it still is.

I was wondering what the heck happened, darn KZfaq. At least you got it back up and I can watch the rest of it with everyone else. I didn't make it to the end since I fell asleep so when the video was missing I hoped it was just a small problem that wouldn't take too long to address! I love this series after all!

I always loved the kh2 prologue even tho it does take 3h to complete. Something about the atmosphere always struck me as something...special, for the lack of a better word. Now, with all of CoM and Days behind it, it has SO much more weight and i love it even more. Thank you.

This still bugs me... is it ever explained how Roxas got out of the digital Twilight Town into the real one? He destroyed the computer and, from my understanding, his only way to the real world. So how did he end up back in the real world to recomplete Sora?

The computer he destroyed was the one in the Simulated Twilight Town, the actual computer in the real world was still intact. Presumably DiZ programmed the whole simulation to just download Roxas as data into Sora’s heart the same way he hid his research data that Riku found at the end of _Dream Drop Distance_ and brought back as a bottled letter.

I've fallen a bit behind on watching these videos (travelling for the holidays and whatnot) but that random cut during the Roxas/DiZ confrontation right before Roxas says "I hate you so much" is so freaking annoying and I hate it so much. Also, the music in this series is absolutely beautiful, with the exception of some world specific music (I hate "This is Halloween" with every fiber of my being). But oh man that Roxas theme right at the end of the episode gets me every freaking time. Regardless of how many times its played over the series (and I think it's slightly overused) I definitely think it works the best here. It just makes you feel sad during what should be a happy moment, as opposed to just piling on the sad (as it does in Days and the Roxas fight later in KH2).

He should still be in the data version of the world since we dont see him enter the real twilight town through the data portal thing DiZ used to put him there in the first place. Also how the hell does Namine come into the data world through a corridor of darkness?? Im so confused Nomura where are you

As said in the original video, Axel's fight was modded just to give him more HP bars, as if he's a proper, actual boss and not a tutorial enemy. Continuity is a fundamental element for this whole Timeline project. Axel had to fight a hell of a battle against Xion just 3 episodes ago. It wouldn't make sense to fight him with just 2 HP bars like in the original game.

@@TheBlueLink3 People were forecasting a decline in the writing quality of Square games after FFX-2 came out. I thought it was just a fluke-- misfires happen, right?-- but when I saw the awkward dialogue, the convoluted plot, and the total flanderization of established characters in KH2 I knew we were in a downward spiral. The dumb moments in digital Twilight Town could be written off as bad programming but this? This was one of the cringiest lines I had ever heard in my life and it was uttered in the real world. It was the moment I said "Uh oh." and realized the doomsayers were probably right. The handheld games have been good though. Type-0's director said that they had more leeway to experiment when making them, which explains a great many things.

@@catkaboodle Sorry, but I completely disagree. That line was just ... perfect. It completely encapsulates Roxas' feelings at that moment, while still being subtle. Yeah, the digital Twilight Town comes off as very strange, but I think it's that way by design. Almost seems like something out of the Twilight Zone (no pun intended). Every time I see the beginning of this game, all I can say is "damn". It's such a ballsy move to make the beginning of a game like this so depressing, not even showing the title card until then. It definitely adds to why I consider KH2 the best game in the series. The dialogue can be a little awkward and the plot is more complex this time around, the game is definitely not without its faults. I always liked the plot more than the first game, though. Honestly, I like most of the other games' plots compared to the first one. Is does a good job of subverting tropes, but it's just too simple for me. I find the concept of Nobodies way more interesting than Heartless, and I feel like the themes were more nuanced this time around. I don't think any of the characters were flanderized, if anything most of them got even more depth than before. Except for maybe Sora, but he was already well developed in the first game. He certainly wasn't flanderized though. I've only played the beginning of FFX-2, couldn't keep playing because I just didn't care for the gameplay that much. Maybe I'll go back to it someday, or maybe I'll just watch a walkthrough for the rest. From what I did see, I thought that the story was fine. It was interesting to see how much the world had changed, and how Yuuna was dealing with the lose of Tidus. It was weird though, can't deny that. The beginning of FFX was kind of confusing too though, and I enjoyed the story more than I thought I would, so who knows how I would feel come the end of FFX-2. The handheld games have been good though, I will give you that.

@@TheBlueLink3 Your words betray your age. There's nothing wrong with that, however. I'm beginning to think that the differences between growing up in the 80s, 90s, and 00s influence a lot of the disagreements about Square-Enix and gaming. FFX-2, KH2, and Advent Children took one or two traits from characters in the original games and redefined those characters around those traits. Take Tifa. Cloud's love interest, constantly trying to pull his head out of his ass. There's so much more to her than that but that's all we really see of her in KH2 (plus the strange writing choice to make her a faux-Aerith because Nomura wanted to retcon Cloud/Aerith out of existence). Sora and Yuna had their "sweet and bubbly" traits dialed up to the point where they became total airheads. To KH2's credit, Sora does not stumble around with the camera pointed at his rear end, but his default setting went from :) to :D just like Yuna's did. I've had this conversation with other people before, and the one constant is that they either played FFX/KH1 when they were very young or played FFX-2/KH2 first (and perhaps never played FFX/KH1 at all). KH2 Sora may have simply left a stronger impression on the people I disagree with than he did on me. Either way, it is indisputable that the characterization and storytelling of the Square-Enix era is different from the Squaresoft era for better or for worse. (I agree with you about digital Twilight Town. Square is still good at establishing the feel of the world and using gameplay itself to convey what it feels like to be the character you're playing.)

I think the first sign all those years ago that this game would be real good would probably be the whole HOUR AND A HALF of gameplay before they even did the title. THAT'S how you know it's serious
