To people finding weird this KH2FM format, this is exactly the same balance I used for the KH1 portion of the Timeline back in July. Cutscenes, a few gameplay parts to show the world's maps, and full boss battles. We don't need to see every random Heartless encounter if not related to the main story, I think we've had enough of 100% playthroughs for the past 12 years.
I think we're just got so used to Roxas and the recent Days videos format for the past 3 months that it looks weird seeing the Disney worlds summed up like this now, with Sora as the main character. If you go watch any Disney worlds made for the KH1 portion, you'll see it's just the same pattern.
Of course, it doesn't help the fact that KH2 and Re:coded don't have multiple events from different characters occurring at the same time, but we were all well aware of that since the very beginning anyway.
Also, Absent Silhouettes and Datas won't have a place in this playthrough, or better say, they can't. They're non canon to the main plot and we can't let Sora see Marluxia before KH3. I can't even see Sora exploring the Cavern of Remembrance, getting to the Garden of Assemblage and do nothing with the Data portals there.
However, I will add special stuff during those story battles that are truly important to Sora.

About KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE:
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware - the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.
Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible -due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such- just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.
Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this - content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga - and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. Can I just say. I enjoy watching Demyx trying to awaken Roxas by just calling out to him. Then he brings out notes that you can bet he received from Saix. Trying to be like Vexen. It's great characterization. XD

Nomura seems to really dig Disney's Hercules... I don't complain, it's my favourite Disney movie, but it really feels like it's the most explored movie in the whole Kingdom Hearts series in comparison to others. Now I want Zack back in KH3 and I want him to have his date with Aqua.

Man, I keep forgetting how long the first visit to Olympus Coliseum was in Kingdom Hearts 2. 3:35 I swear, that sound he makes warms my heart every time I hear it. 27:07 It's reunions like this that make me so excited for how the main characters will react once they potentially reunite in KH3, such as Aqua and Sora or Lea and Roxas.

Nope! No more text bubbles. Talking to NCP’s will make them actually talk like a mini cutscene, similar to how games function nowadays lol. Text bubbles are massively outdated for a game like this.

My favorite Disney world visit! It has a little bit of everything: Reunion with classic Disney characters, new areas to explore, meddling by Pete, awesome Final Fantasy cameo/party member, and the presence of a cooky Organization member! This world visit perfectly encompasses what Kingdom Hearts is all about for me 😊

Every KH Final Fantasy character is a new character, with a different backstory. For all we know, Auron could of done some dirty stuff in this universe. It’s obvious it’s not following the actual lore considering Tidus is like 14 in this universe.

While we're all entitled to deliver constructive criticism, I'm noticing a lot of nitpicking going on in the comments section. Ease up, Everglow is doing his absolute best to give us the KH content we love and want. This is a daunting task that requires a lot of time, commitment, and attention (not to mention the time frame he's working in as we approach the release of KH3) We were a little spoiled with the 358/2 Days segments. Just enjoy the ride folks...😀💞

There's a huge missed opportunity to connect Olympus to the bigger story a bit more by having Sora ask Phil who else he's trained, and Phil mentioning Roxas.

Coded, 358 and birth by sleep were all being made at the same time, so that's why their stories have so many references and connections. Maybe someday we'll know how much Nomura had planned though. I think so. He probably doesn't steal the Olympus stone until after we see him here. I think he went to the underworld to try and recruit Hades, discovered he couldn't do anything in the underworld, then went to steal the stone.

Hey Everglow I’m sure this comment will get lost somewhere in here but I just wanted to say that I’ve been watching every single video you’ve uploaded for a while now, and this massive project that you and c.o are doing is something otherworldly! I know with KHII starting up I’ve seen people have comments like “will it be done in time for KHIII” or why wasn’t this scene in here” even though you’ve stated why and yes you will get it done, I really appreciate for this gift :3 to the whole community of long term fans and new ones who might be trying to catch up for this new game they’ve heard about! Playing all these games since I was 10, and growing up with have showed me with the ideals of how friendships are and what’s important, and this timeline is making me cry and cheer and laugh and feel all kinds of raw emotions that these games gave me when I played them blind each release To finish a long comment (and I know you know this) don’t stress about trying to finish this out of obligation or anyone saying anything otherwise. You have given us something that no one could ever repay you and your team! And each scene, each edit you put in, choice of remix and songs, modded fights to accompany story; this to me is the true and all time KH experience anyone could ever have. Ahhhh I forgot how much I loved the Underworld. Also it goes without saying that I ADORE the Roxas flashbacks. The Ven ones were already so compelling in KH1, and this will be even better, knowing the payoff in the end!

11:31 - 12:06 Another sound glitch. Villains of a Sort is supposed to be playing in this part. Also, I figured you would skip the Absent Silhouettes and the Cavern of Remembrance because they are unrelated to the plot.

Not a glitch. Was purposely taken out in the final mix cut. A lot of choices like that are in FM. Roxas confronting Twilight Thorn starts the music when the battle starts instead of beforehand. It’s just a Final Mix edit.

Some of them were poor choices. Examples include the barriers that appear in a split second in cutscenes, specifically Halloween Town and Olympus Coliseum; the sound of Iago getting blasted by Jafar is missing; Goofy turning around in a circle at Halloween Town; Prince Eric disappearing when Ariel approaches him; bad lip syncing in the Xemnas cutscene when hearts join with Kingdom Hearts; and the second phase of the final Xemnas boss fight should have been longer. I really miss the dialogue line, “Riku, are you sure you’re not jealous of Sora?”

I feel like Winnie the Pooh's World in 2 is basically a call back to Chain of Memories. Since Memories where a Key component to story of each world in those games, but 100 ache wood didn't even get a story if memory serves, so this is Basically Pooh's chain plot line, spliced in with the fact it's a reference to how Sora's Memories where torn apart and had to be stitched back together

There is something i did remember but it's related to episode 91. There is a way for Donald and Goofy for not remember the tower where Yensid live: BBS take place 11 years before KH2 so Donald and Goofy may didn't go to the tower all this time and then forget, or during the processing to get back there memories after the events of COM they may didn't get all of them or didn't simply recover completely so that's why they may not remember yet. That's all what i have to say and thanks for reading even if i'm late

Any reason you've cut out the scene right after Sora and co. escape from Hades' chamber right before the Hades Escape fight?

I think I can understand why, because Sora and the others just fled Hades from his chamber to the next room, what would be the point of including Hades say "Leaving so soon?", something like that would be more appropriate for just when Sora and co leave him behind before being chased down by Cerberus, makes sense along those lines. If this was rhetorical, oops.

Hades doesn't know when to quit. He tries everything to get rid of Hercules and Sora to take over the Cosmos, Getting rid of his older brother, The lord of Olympus, Zeus, have the Olympus for himself (As is he's moving to the Underworld to Mount Olympus, that is.) everything.

It’s a glitch in the ps4 release that happens if a text bubble scene goes directly into an actual cutscene. This is because the text cutscenes run at 60fps so when it transfers to a cutscene with actual speech afterwards, it somehow gets messed up and runs at 60fps. It happens with this scene As well as the scene where Roxas gets punched in the gut by Hayner on day 2. The Aladdin scene where Sora, Donald and Goffy dogpile on Abu. The scene where Barbossa first explains his plans in the pirate world and he cuts Elizabeth’s hand. Keep an eye out. It may be a glitch but it’s a pretty cool glitch 😂

- Something I like about the Olympus Coliseum is how Hades recruits Final Fantasy heroes. I'm not sure if KHIII will continue that, but if it did, I think Lightning from XIII would be a good fit. Nomura has confirmed that there will be FF characters. What do you guys think? - I really can't picture someone other than James Woods portraying this version of Hades. When Disney inevitably greenlights their Hercules remake, they'd be crazy not to cast Woods. - Demyx is kinda funny in the games, but in the manga, he's hilarious as well as likable. For those of you who haven't read the manga, I encourage you to.

Let me remind everyone that by KH3, everyone within Sora's age group will be around 17 or so. I know its a bit of a stretch, but just imagine a mature Tidus meeting up with Auron and Yuna. Seifer is bound to older, Zack can show up and turn Cloud's frown upside down, and the prospect of Lightning or Aranea showing up is rather high in my book. Again, I know I'm reaching. But I'm hoping as well.

I'd argue that the Absent Silhouettes and Data Battles are fun and exciting enough to warrant showing them off, at least the Absent Silhouettes. It's just nice having Demyx get a little more screentime with his Organization duties, you know? Also some of those fights are super epic. But I get it, we've got a timetable to meet. But it would still be awesome to see the Cavern of Remembrance though, it's just such a fun section to play around in. I get this is story-dictated but GAAAAAHHHHH this game has too much fun stuff and we're skipping most of it! It's probably not that big of a deal, but I was kind of looking forward to seeing how you'd work them into the story. But if you don't, that's okay, especially if it's in favor of doing a little bit of extra special stuff for Re:Coded later down the line.

That cutscene runs at 60fps, because it occurred right after a text bubble scene. That’s a certain glitch in the 1.5+2.5 release.

Every other cutscene runs at the standard 30fps. I think it’s not as noticeable because that’s how we always saw the cutscenes.

so no absent silhouette and the data battles are not included because they are non-canon right. since Sora, Donald, and Goofy do not remember him in kh3.

A bit disappointed at the absence of Absent Silhouettes since they are my favorite secret battles in KH2. I honestly thought they were canon since there is even a cutscene with Demyx explaining what they are (lingering spirits bound to the weapons). I can understand excluding Data Battles, but I was so sure we were getting the silhouettes :( Sora doesn't remember Marluxia in KH3, but maybe it is because the silhouette was just a random battle to him? After all it didn't even speak. Sora has met Xemnas in KH1 but then he doesn't recognize the Organization coat when he sees it in Yen Sid ' s tower. Also, silhouettes would have been a nice diversion within the rather boring Disney worlds. Regardless, I'm in love with this project and the great job you have done. Thank you again!

The difference is I believe this was confirmed to be non-canon. They do add a cutscene with Demyx but they had a cutscene for the Cavern of Remembrence and that’s been confirmed non-canon as well.

Cavern has been confirmed for a while to be non canon by Nomura. The Absent Silloihettes are obviously non canon though. I doubt Sora will recognize Larxene or Zexion in KH3 just like he didn’t recognize Marluxia. Honestly, them being non canon just makes things simpler as they obviously are going to pretend they never happened. So not really confirmed non canon but for the sake of the story, better to assume them as such.

@@Ventus2077 There was a discussion on twitter whether to include them or not. A lot of people were fine leaving them out because Sora doesn't seem to remember Marluxia when meeting him in kh3, therefore they might not be canon.

The Silhouettes are non canon and so is the Cavern of Remembrance, so they will not make appearances in the timeline. If they did it would just make newcomers kinda confused. Lingering Will...I’m not sure. I’m pretty sure it’s Canon so he may include it. I’m really wondering about Sephiroth.

Gamelover254 If the Absent Silhouettes weren’t canon, then the cutscene of Demyx mentioning about them should’ve been optional, but it was canon instead. I truly believe that these Silhouettes were logically canon and you could never know how Sora would react by the time KHIII releases, not all of the cutscenes revealed within the trailers would necessarily appear on the finalized copy and there are many examples from previous titles about that.

I think Cerberus seems smaller here than in KH1 due to two reasons: 1. Sora is taller, so there's less of a difference in size. 2. The camera is further away from Sora in KH2 than it was in KH1.

Technically the “movie” doesn’t happen in any world. It’s all changed around. For example, in the Nightmare before Christmas world, Jack makes a reference to causing “Sandy Claws” trouble in the past and calls it a “long story”, obviously referring to the events that took place in the movie. When he said that, Oogie Boogie (who was in the movie) was beaten long before any of that could have happened. So the same things can happen, just with a slight twist meaning the “movie” per se never really takes place.

Yeah the Toy Story thing, not sure how I feel about that honestly. Following the actual movie canon would be fine, but for it to be actually canon to the movies just strikes me as a bit odd. Like what’s the point exactly?
