When I played this. The final boss just killed all my artillery's and I lost miserably

I alt-f4'd when he zapped my towers. Haven't played for 5 months since. This video makes me want to try again.

Thanks for the guide. I think it is a really lame asspull for the boss to just destroy your towers. You play the whole game with towers in mind, and then he just zaps them. Stupid final boss but I enjoyed the rest of the game

Rage quit when I tried this level yesterday, and vowed never to play this again, haha. Everything went perfectly until the boss. Did it now by using your tower placement as reference, and did it without any issues. So, thank you for posting this.

In kingdom rush origins, the crystal of Elynie falls in young Vez'nan's hands, then he goes to the area in Kingdom rush 1 and gets defeated, then Lord malagar takes the crystal heading in the direction to the area in Kingdom rush frontiers, then he dies and the crystal gets picked up by an alien. So the 4th kingdom rush game would be like an alien invasion thing. Aliens are too ugly

Thanks for the tips. I finally managed to beat it on my own by going back and doing all of the Heroic and Iron challenges to max out upgrades. After your walkthrough, I got three stars easily by saving up 6500 gold in waves 13-15 and upgrading a lot less on my towers (no more Death Riders, poison cloud, oil slick, higher level machine gun on crossbow forts, etc.). This time the only upgrades I bought were max wasp missiles, 1/0 on crossbow, and 0/0 on Necro towers.

Years earlier this stage was the reason i stopped playing KR2. I managed to beat it several times but never with full health. Whether did my pants get stolen by the sneaky bois, or the boss would zap 6 towers to let all his shadow gang break in my house and eat my brain. It was the most disgusting stage I've ever played. Gladly for the covid thing I got some extra time to spend at home chilling, and steam had KR series recommended for me. I didn't really appreciate it at first, but boredom, you know, makes people do anything they get to do. I started playing all series again, and holy fuck I just started loving it 10 times more than when I first played it. On last stage, I figured out that saving 2000+ bucks for boss could make his tower blow almost useless, and beat it full health. It felt absolutely amazing. Thanks for the idea of building early defense. Great video, 10/10. Fuck I love this game.

I legit had to use 5 fat boys just to take the final boss down. I wasn’t prepared for him at all, especially him zapping my towers out of existence lol. Fat boys always come in clutch.

The middle portion, I always like filling it with artillery, because 4 battle mechas armed with rocket launcher kill everything on the map. As for archer towers, I like to put them in the middle of as many towers as possible to be able to extend the range of as many towers as possible with the crossbow tower

I've played this game a lot over the past decade. You can also do very well with just mages and barracks instead of archers.

You were in the credits for being a beta tester, too bad you skipped them!

Honestly all the last regular campaign levels with the lizard things can all be beaten with max upgrades for magic towers reinforcements and meteor storm, and then just use all magic towers up to the arcane wizard side(whichever one isnt the necro) including the boss level. Its kinda sad though because it takes away the challenge

Much, much better than the Ironhide strategy. Got three stars on the first try, while with their layout, I always ended up getting my *ss kicked and couldn't get more than two stars.

Is it possible that Umbra go trought your defense cuz he isnt moving?

I'm pretty sure he doesn't start destroying your towers until after he dies once. So even though his minions don't give that much gold, I still try to stall the first life for as long as possible.

Umbra really is a nuisance. Usually when you are capable of surviving all the waves you at least stand a chance when the stage boss appears but not this guy. Your defences might be adequate to stop the main waves but then when Umbra appears..... He can literally rob you off everything once he starts taking your towers down. Key stones gone and perhaps no chance of stopping his many minions. Occasionally you'll get a boss that's too resistant to one particular thing so you might have to rethink that ("hmm ok more magic next time" etc) but for Umbra it's harder to learn from as you just don't know what he will wreck and what will save you. Thanks for this video. Boss was just annoying for me; finally beat him.

For anyone who is still struggling with this mission. Do exactly as shown in this video but: * Buy 2-4 gold poaches in Store - that would add you 1 000-2 000 gold when you need it. Best time - just before the boss battle. * Build 3 mechas instead of 4. That way you would have more money for the boss. On the empty spot build just level 1 archer tower. * Never upgrade multishot on crossbow tower to the last level! It adds only +25% of damage. Second level is good enough. * Never upgrade range and crit on crossbow tower - it makes it too expensive too loose. * You could also try not to choose a specialty for your infantry - that way you would save some money. * Build level 1 Archer towers on ALL free spaces before the boss battle! This way boss will sometimes destroy them instead of other highly upgraded towers ;-) * When boss destroys a tower - build a level 1 Archer tower IMMEDIATELY (for the reasons explained before)! Then upgrade it to a Crossbow tower. * Freeze doesn't work on this boos. But it works on some other bosses ;-)

I usually use 3 barracks and 14 necromancer towers.

This level really tested me! This video helped a ton. However, I followed the same plan but didn't use the two lowest build sites or the one you need to dig up on the left exit. Had a mage tower up to just below top level on the top left and a crossbow fort top right by level 12. Then just sat back and collected money. Had 8500 when the boss appeared and just replaced everything with crossbow forts (and one Mecca with wasps). Twenty lives, three stars! :)

Fun fact: Umbra means "shadow" in Latin.

i normally upgrade my barracks to full on Ninjas. The hold up the enemy for longer periods of time because of their dodge ability and they steal gold... no need to save up for the final round.

I played this on normal, and built 7 mecha with max missiles. Somehow i survived lol with 1 or 2 mecha left

I had even more money saved up, yet still lost, because the boss just didn't stop killing towers. He killed probably 25 towers (including rebuilt ones).

Managed to save more than 6000 gold during the fight with all 20 lives. He just keeps destroying the towers as soon as i put them. I died miserably, and have no idea how i luckily got 2 stars the previous time. One thing for sure : i can't manage to win a second time and certainly won't get my 3 stars....

I did this stage with cheats and boy i have a hard time beating this guy...my fingers are literally tired replacing and upgrading my towers...this guy is the definition of a boss
