Winter camping in SUB-ZERO temperatures?! We packed up full time van life to sleep in this abandoned cabin in the woods in Sweden!
I'm sure you've seen the tv programmes Surviver or Alone in the Wilderness.. since seeing these we've been, let's say, intrigued at the thought of packing a backpack, a small set of tools and wandering into the wilderness aka the vast forest of Sweden to try and survive.
We've always wondered how we'd get on alone in the woods, could we make a fire? Could we build shelter and live off the land?
Well luckily it wasn't as crazy as the tv programme survivor! We managed to find ourself a log cabin in the woods to spend the night. With absolutely no knowledge of how to do this bush camp or winter camp in minus temperatures, snow and off the grid!
We set off in search of the cabin on a cold crisp new years eve.
The forest we decided on is known for it's bears which made us apprehensive, but we were later told they'd all be hibernating, it was the wolves we needed to look out for!

Not for me. Although i enjoyed watching you two do it. It was hysterically fun from my warm and cozy recliner. I am not physically fit to run from wolves and big foot in the snow. I don't care for splinters either. Love you guys!

As a Canadian who spends winter complaining about winter, I have to confess this series is making me appreciate how beautiful and special it is.... And also, I don't think many can appreciate the sweat and frozen sweat of your 2k trek in soft snow. I definitely would have just starting rolling to the cabin after 500 metres.

Great video. Tyrkisk peber (Turkin pippuri) divides people (some love it, others not so much) is actually Finnish candy, like many other sweets in Sweden. Actually most of the ”Swedish” snacks you had, were Finnish… 😅😊 Anyways, enjoy your trip and have the most amazing year, there’ll be loads of cool (hidden) places to explore in these parts of the world.

Once you are in Canada and in the province of B.C. you should do the Grouse Grind ( essentially a giant stairmaster) as well as hike The Chief in Squamish..just outside of Vancouver. The views at the top are beautiful.

What a fantastic new year video! 💜 (Few days late to this as my kid had a mental health emergency on Sunday, but this video has felt like self-care for me 😊) absolutely best ever advert 😂😂 absolutely cracked me up. Wanted to share what we have done in the past for new years: throughout the year, when we do something fun or something good happens, we write it on a scrap of paper with the date on, fold it and put it in a jar labelled with the year. And on new year's eve or day, we open the jar and take turns to pick out a piece of paper and read it out, and we can remember all the fab things that happened that year! Maybe give it a try this year xxx

I've learnt a trick if I don't want to watch a sponsor ad but still want to support the channel - I change the playback speed to x1.75 for that section 😁 A creator once explained that that still counts as a full video view! But I agree that Craig & Amy's ads are quite entertaining 😄

Aimee said it's so much warmer in custard when yall got back in from camping. And showed it was 15 degrees Fahrenheit! 😳🥶 I would literally be crying. There's no flippin way I could do that. And then for the pipes to be frozen, you have no way to take a warm shower, I'm not sure if you could turn the stove on and maybe boil a pot of water to help with heat and the dry air from the cold..omg I'm telling you..I couldn't do it. Props to you both!
