Starting to believe the way things are being ran, the Kings couldn't find a competent Assistant Coach who was interested in joining the Kings knowing that Blake is in his most likely lame duck last season as GM so they hired the only person who would be willing to be hired on, an ex-Ducks coach to hammer the message home.

This has me excited. Writing is on the wall. KINGS struggling right off the bat, Blake is fired midway through the season. New GM comes in and conducts a fire sale. Lottery pick. And of course, we don't get the number 1 OA pick.

I think Eddie's friend on the Ducks affiliate is accurate. Why are the Kings "investing" in Brown who carries the weight of this opinion? Do the Kings owners care about us? I even wonder if the Kings owners are pondering a sale of the team which would relocate them elsewhere. I know I sound like a pessimist, but this brown hiring is an indication that the Kings don't want to spend any money thanks likely to the spending habits of Blake.

The head coach will be the one choosing the pp system used. The Assistant is then in charge of teaching it. So if a team has a poor antiquated system it’s on the head coach. I’m neutral on the hire but there’s some naivety on how things work.

Eddie your taking advice from a Ducks fan that should tell you all you need to know friend or no but seriously that is wealth of experience I say give him a chance it will work or it won't have faith in the team now on Nousianan for the this the 3rd time in the last few season Blake has parted ways with a prospect I felt had potential all 3 (Marcus Phillips, Aidan Dudas heing the others) ironically 4th rnd picks who had there most productive seasons then weren't retained Nousianan finally got what he needed games and showed well wasn't a point producer but had excellent positioning just always seemed to be on the right side of the puck and really grew his game this past season I felt he deserved another season but out with old in with the new I guess

Intresting that Brown was rehired 3 times with the Mightyless Ucks and twice with the NuckNucks. His services are obviously in high demand. The PP coach is probably like a lot of other coaches that are let go just like the head coach when things become stale and they need a new voice in the room. Whatever. The Kings are still winning nothing except a 1st-round exit with or without him with the on ice personnel they currently employ, so yeah...

Everyone is excited about Portillo and his development…and rightly so. Interesting…especially noting who is governing his development. It’s Adam Brown…Newell Brown’s son…the dude everyone on this site believes is a crap hire. Can’t make this up.
