Carousels and their Wurlitzer's Kings Dominion's band organ is likely in a very sorry shape. The last time it played was in the early 1980's, I hear around 1982-1983. They apparently were having problems with the Artizan roll frames, so they shut it off. Not playing for that long can do a lot of wear on the organ as you probably know. Kings Island's organ is actually in very nice condition. The park reached out to me to take a look at the organ, and all of the work I did to get it playing well was for free. It's a labor of love! I do want to do some more adjusting though. The snare drum reiterator needs a new part as the old is worn, I also need to fix the tubing for the forte, (trombones + other ranks) and as of right now - that rank is not turning on. The organ is even better in person though.
