I can agree! Miele are pretty good quality, although the newer models are a let down in cheaper plastic materials being used, and more easily damaged under heavy use, my W562 is almost identical to your old W3240, it’s only needed a new element and brushes in 13.5 years. Miele do actually use transit rods, they’re like long flute type rods. Any machine with suspension is required to have it for shipping, as a drum as heavy as that will cause a lot of internal damage. Miele do not use concrete correct, but they use cast iron weight around the front of the tub and a cast iron bearing frame on the rear.

​@@HooverA3060 With our current Miele washing machine the Miele delivery men would have removed the transit bars which comes out through 2 small compartments in the back and you also use the control panel to electronically unlock them which is clever idea. Maybe the W3240 also used 2 transit bars located through a small compartments in the back. I remember my parents saying at the time with a Miele washing machine you don't open the top panel to remove the transit bracket like you do with most other brand washing machines, maybe Miele designed their washing machines that way so that removing any of the panels would invalidate the warranty as only a qualified Miele personnel is allowed to if the washing machine needs to be repaired. I never liked the idea of removing any panels on appliances yourself as you can damage your washing machine if you don't know what your doing but the transit rods on Miele washing machines look straight forward enough if you need to put them back in for any reason like moving house. I wouldn't be surprised if the transit rods concept was also used on Miele washing machines even as far back as the early 90s. The W562 has the same control panel as the W3240, to tell the truth I'm not 100% sure what model our previous Miele washing machine is but I prefer those models because they are very easy to use and there are only 4 buttons but the only controls I ever needed to touch was the dial to set my program, the start button and the orange button to open the door. Our condenser dryer is very easy because all you have is the program dial, a start button and the orange door release button. We bought our Miele dryer in 2016, probably just before Miele discontinued that particular range. By the way I'm also autistic and when I was 4 my parents used to take me around Homeworld to look at the washing machines, I used to be obsessed with washing machines and I still am a bit obsessive telling people not to buy certain brands like Indesit, Beko, Candy or Hoover. It was very nice of the people in the store to give you a stick on magnetic panel for your own Miele washing machine.

Wow!! Did they still have the same W Classics? As I know Miele have introduced a new W1 Classic range now and WT1 washer dryers

LOL me too! I would spend ages playing with the Edition 111 models when they first came out! Oh you're talking about the "Fashionmaster" I too liked that a lot, that and their Rotary Ironer.

In the end I went over the road to John Lewis. & brought my Miele washing machine & dryer, I did a visit to the Miele outlet in Abingdon, great day out, worth a visit....... I did try the rotary ironed, however it’s a dry iron, it doesn’t steam.
