Today we go weigh our firewood IBC tote loaded with red oak and see how well the Kioti ck3510 lifts it and see how well the Toyota Tacoma hauls it. Kioti CK3510 Loader Lift Test

Great video I have the same tractor and love seeing real life comparisons! I have a F350 and I love my truck, your pallet of wood wouldn’t have changed the plane of the truck. Also saves time carrying larger loads instead of several smaller loads! But good look with your search and look forward to more videos!

I was surprised when you switched from the rotary cutter to the box blade for ballast. I would have bet the cutter weighed more and the fact that it hangs farther back would have been the better choice for ballast but I guess I was wrong. Nice video and demo. Love Kioti.

Yeah that’s why I originally had the brush hog on the back. I thought since it was longer it would be better but I was wring as well. The box blade seemed to keep the back tires on the ground better

Don't forget that spec is without bucket at the pin. Subtract your fork frame and forks. And add in the 4ft away from the pin and this is very impressive indeed.

We fill the totes also and stack them 2 high. Customer sees the clean dried wood. Easy to handle. If the customer wants the tote it is a deposit added on to the cost and if returned they get the deposit back. Need to be careful if any sharp edges for a customer on the tote where you cut it. And yes they will freeze down.Had trouble last year with winter freezing rain in them so at least could put some inside to thaw out before selling. Some of the plastic is cut in half and goes for garden container

Our setups are so similar it's nearly funny. I have a 2016 single cab Toyota. We call them a Hilux but I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same vehicle. The single cab is rated for a bit over 1000kg (2000ish pounds) and takes one of those really comfortably. Hardly even sits any lower. I'm running a Husky 365 that I've had for about 8 years. That splitter you have is a beautiful thing. Much more efficient than mine but I don't know how it would go with Australian timber. Those logs look really straight and easy to split. Probably nice enough to mill for timber. Our timber quite often has a very tight and twisted grain. Love your work man!

I've ran 1/2 ton trucks for ten years, finally bought a 3/4 ton truck when i decided that i was going into firewood more seriously, also bought a ck4010 and a 20ft trailer, the 3/4 ton is a game changer, don't know why I was so hell bent of the 1/2 tons for so long. I still have a 2015 f150 - company truck that I use everyday, its a night and day difference in drive feeling when I hop into my 3/4 gmc, I prefer the bigger truck, especially when hauling rounds and towing.

Stout tractor and one peppy truck. My younger brother was a die hard Ford man. In 2013 he bought a Toyota Tundra, and he says it'll handle a 16' trailer and pull his John Deere 4005 tractor which is a 40 h. p. Tractor and weighs in about 3200 lbs. as easy as his old Ford F 250. He said the Toyota did better than the Ford. Good video Adam my friend.

Adam, I love Toyota's. I have had Tacoma's 4runners and a tundra. I loved them all and put lots of miles on them. My beater now is a 99 4runner with 322000 on it. But I broke down and bought an f250 diesel a couple of years ago and there is NO comparison. Hauling wood, coal , my tractor it doesn't blink. 465 hp with loads of torque and it gets 21 miles to the gallon highway, 19 around home. A lot of money though. My company pays me milage and that almost pays for the truck. Thanks for the video

You have to watch picking up the totes in the winter. I take some of the liners and cut them so they lay flat and set the tote on them. If I don't have the liner I set the tote on wood. If you set them in the grass they will freeze to the ground in the winter. You will break them up trying to pick them up.

I did 4 pallets of sod, wish I had a decent trailer... so I did one at a time in my F-150. They were in the middle weight class around 2,300 pounds and I had decent squat but the truck handled it well. I miss my Tacoma big time, but the 1,100-1,600 pound payload made me feel like I was being destructive and abusive to the truck on those occasions where I worked it hard.

No worries about hurting the truck .I pull a 30ft 5th wheel with a 16ft lund behind it . No problems . I can pass anything on the highway with that rig . More truck is always better and safer .

If i were you, I would seriously consider a dump trailer. The totes are cool for around the house, but how would you unload them on a delivery? I would love a dump trailer, but I can't justify the cost. Do you have a carry all for your tractor? I love mine for firewood. You could also try pallet forks on the back of the tractor, as it should be way more stable than on the front. Great video!

Did you think about a dump trailer for hauling your wood?? I would work with what you have. The tractor has to really work to get up to the bed, trailer is much lower, some you can drive into. Then the dump will really help out when customers want it dumped & won't spend for stacking.

@eternalharvestfarm
@eternalharvestfarm 2 жыл бұрын
Remember, when you level the tote to put it on the bed, you are adding torque to the loader. The weight is farther away from the pivot pin. The more it's tilted back, the more weight is over the pivot pin. So it probably can take 1800lb to max height, but you gotta keep that over the pivot...or with the firewood, all over you when it dumps it back and full height, haha.
@ifyoutip
@ifyoutip 2 жыл бұрын
Well, his set of forks on the quick attach also weigh around 320 lbs he said in one of the comments. So it's rated at 1835 lbs. I have bought a kioti similar to this one with the 4030 loader and it will pick the rear of the tractor right off the ground and the tires are weighted. So if I'm lifting heavy stuff I usually put a box blade or something on the back for extra counter weight.
@eternalharvestfarm
@eternalharvestfarm 2 жыл бұрын
@@ifyoutip Yeah I have a 3510 now and I can't imagine not having weighted tires. It's a pretty light tractor. The loader is solid, never a fear of not 'lifting' in terms of hydraulic power, only a fear of lifting the back end of the tractor haha. But yeah I keep my tiller on when I'm doing bucket work with the clay we have around here when it's wet.

Air bags and any other type of lift in the back end are only meant to level the truck back up again with its recommended maximum load, they aren't meant to level a truck when it is overloaded. Otherwise everyone would be driving their half ton trucks about with a ton of wood on the back. Maybe they do in the U.S. and then start whinging and whining because their diff or axle breaks.
