I wish Kirin got a lot more attention than he does, because his music is genuinely great. I thought this album wasn't as strong as Bravado, but I had no idea how he made it with returning all the instruments for all his money back, which is hilarious and impressive. Great album and great review melon man 👍

FYI Anthony “Life is Life” is really a cover of a cover... check out Slovenian industrial rock band Laibach’s rendition of that track from the late 80s.

Ever since I was a kid my father smoked. Me and my mom weren't specially keen of it and my mom would always warn me to not smoke because it would give me cancer. Anthony if you're reading. This album is effectively a tribute to the Slovenian band Laibach. A band known primarily for their heavy noisey industrial covers of slightly dated or naff songs. This albums opening track life is life appeared on Laibachs first album and is still their best known song. Kirin is very obviously a big fan of Their style of parody. The weird chainmail head gear and other outfit's are inspired by Laibachs frontman Milan Fras. If you watch the playlist of kirins favourite music videos on his KZfaq channel Laibachs Life is life video is in there. I just felt like I should point this out as its staring me in the face and thought you might be interested to know Anthony! Big fan keep up the good work melon.

One tidbit you missed: the Life Is Life cover draws pretty heavily from the Slovenian band Laibach’s cover of the same song, especially the cadence and usage of horns. It’s more or less a cover of their cover, which is incredibly on-brand for Kirin.
