My guts hurt from laughing. It‘s a special kind of laughter that comes from the pure joy of witnessing something so utterly perfect and iconic that the only reaction is to laugh from awe. And then something else iconic and perfect happens, and you laugh some more at the brilliance. And it just keeps going and going for seven minutes. The laughter and the awe. Kirin is my favourite. Please make more tshirts.

Then, watched a cat meme with a screaming cowboy. I just had to watch the original AAAAAAA song, and oof did I cringe. I loved it ironically, not realizing it was satire. I just *had* to look up the singers - what the hell was their deal? How the hell did they get their hands on Jimmy Barnes? Sexual favors and extortion??? Next thing I know I’m watching Kirin, Jimmy Barnes, Alex Cameron, Momus, Waterboys, Sex Pistols.... Not sure what alternate universe I’ve landed in, but I kinda sorta dig it (unironically).

What a wonderful song, can't believe I hadn't discovered it until Kirin. The original is fantastic but I love the reckless and gusto Kirin sings it with, think it's the slightly sped up tempo.

There's so many great 80s songs that Kirin's Bowie-esque vocals would suit. Too many to think of but Robert Hazard's original version of Girls Just Want To Have Fun that Cyndi Lauper made famous is one for sure! Worth taking a listen.
