I think you're underrating Cousins' ability. He stands in against a pass rush better than any QB can, and he throws the ball accurately. Don't be fooled by his post-season record. It takes an entire TEAM to win games. His defenses were seldom strong enough. Too bad the Falcons front office doesn't realize that by drafting a stud defensive player with their 8th pick!

@SportsBossMan24 күн бұрын
Very few of us are questioning Penix's ability. But if you're trying to win now, then don't blow the 8th pick in the entire draft by not taking the best defensive player! Help Kirk win.
@SportsBossMan24 күн бұрын
What a likeable guy! He really took the high road in answering questions about the Falcons taking a QB. Dan Patrick didn't push the issue too much though. Didn't ask about the clubhouse impact, the competition with Penix, or how he felt about the way he was treated. Seeing his personality makes me realize there won't be too big of an impact of players taking Penix's side. It's a shame Atlanta didn't give him defensive help though with that 8th pick. If Atlanta doesn't win it won't be because of poor Cousins play. He's a hell of a good QB, and will have a much better chance to be a playoff team with him running the show and not Penix. I'm rooting for Kirk 100%.

@merlomusic7856Ай бұрын
@@JJdeluxeCSU I agree. It’s a lazy narrative being pushed by some national Talking Heads and now adopted by the casual fan. Lamar Jackson has one more playoff win than Kirk cousins. Kirk cousins has played for two different teams, different coaches and hasn’t had the talent, especially on defense that Lamar has had. The ravens last year were considered possibly the best team in the NFL in the regular season. They are one of the best + most stable franchises year in and year out. John Harbaugh is one of the most respected coaches in the NFL. So again as great as Lamar Jackson is , he only has one more playoff win than Kirk cousins in a much more stable environment yet nobody calls Lamar out. This is not a knock on Jackson but simply a statement on how hard it is to win in the playoffs in the NFL.
@Paula-mv8imАй бұрын
@@Dnasty0118 But as first rounders, they should have a lot more success. Allen, Burrow or Herbert have never even played in a Super Bowl. Herbert's win-loss record is 30-32. Burrow is injury prone. And Kirk has only been a starter for 9 seasons.

The big problem with this situation, is that both Cousins and Penix are ready to be NFL starters, and neither should sit on the bench this season. The Falcons need to be reasonable, and they need to trade Cousins so they can start Penix, who they love and trust. The steelers should offer their 2025 #1 pick in a trade for Penix. Pittsburg just discovered that Wilson and Fields are both toxic, uncoachable and mentally deficient. They have a great team, except for the QB position. This needs to happen!!

How exactly is Kirk over paid when he was the 15th highest paid QB with the Vikings. FYI: "good" quarterbacks don't lead their team back from the biggest comeback in NFL history (33 points). Or...don't have a career passer rating of 98.2. which is the 8th highest passer rating in NFL history…..in NFL history. He’s 5th all-time in completion percentage. His passing yards per game also ranks 10th all-time in the history of the NFL. Kirk’s 417 passing yards in the second half/overtime in that big comeback win is the most passing yards a QB has thrown for in second half/overtime in NFL history.
