JK suffers from not being able accept that the AB’s can’t (and any team in the world for that matter) can’t always be the best team in the world. He’s clearly hurting, but lacks a little grace. SA had to play second fiddle to the AB’s for nearly 20 years, and always had a healthy respect and admiration for the AB’s

@@wallieveldtsman300 i recall JK getting a try that day, and the All Blacks winning a test for only the 2nd time at Ellis Park, (up to that point in time) But the Springboks did get 3 late tries to make the full time result look more even. Any win in South Africa is a good win for the All Blacks

Springboks have greater depth than the All Blacks, especially at Lock. Add in not having South African teams in super rugby, has increased the gap between NZ and SA teams, to the advantage of South Africa, plus a Kiwi as part of the Springbok coaching team. This new look all blacks will have a tough time in South Africa and will take at least a year to develop into a reasonable team, I see the Springboks winning both the tests this year.

JK is somewhat hypocritical... he loved the fact that his Auckland Blues won Super Rugby Pacific by playing SA-style rugby. Both JK and Goldie were straining at the seams to _not_ describe the Blues style as South African. The most they could admit was that "it wasn't typical NZ DNA".

The Blue rugby this year is NOT a South African style rugby - the English for a long time have played the same style, The ABs were the masters of this game between 1987-1990! Its called 10-man rugby or better "pressure" rugby!

Bok fan here, NZ are THE team we respect. The games with them are always tough and unpredictable and both teams need the other to improve their own game. Both bring different styles and no quarter is asked or given. As for adapting to the new rules, I think SA has already started doing that, naturally it’s only in its infancy but with the pool of upcoming talent I think teams like NZ may see the day when they are beaten by similar tactics to the ones they have always espoused.

As a player, JK was impressive. Sadly as an elder statesman, he comes across as a bitter and very biased commentator….and looks the piece too. He appears to have scant appreciation of the skillset of tight forwards…..those same forwards that did the hard work to give him the ball on a plate to score his tries. It is not rugby League, JK. There is beauty in a well executed scrum.

Is JK the definitive authority on Rugby, he is so biased in his assessment it must hurt they have been complaining since 95... As I recall food posing 95 and 2023 the ref was rubbish any other time he was the world's best. JK does NZ rugby no favor and people will lose respect as a result. Fortunately it's but just his opinion and he shouldn't be taken seriously.

Springboks adapts,they controlled games with their style of play and it brought them back to back world cups.new zealand is a dominant side with over flowing entertaining style of play,yet they don't adapt.with rules changed offcourse theyll affect Springboks game yet they good at adapting,they'll lose more games than ireland and nz but they are the best at knock outs where it matters the most.

It is true, through history the All Blacks have set a standard and the Springboks obliged. Somehow, the age of players and a bad day at the Office, a screaming Ref, the wind and rainy weather sometimes bring on a 90% Rugby Day, that is when the either of these two teams can knock each other off. At the moment the All Blacks are building team, however, if the All Blacks had to play us on Saturday this week, it would be another loss to them, adding we look forward to our next meeting!

My understanding from the past two WC that intellectual process were dominant over the skills factor. The two WC before that was absolutely pure AB skills and instinct. The next WC the AB would have enhanced their intelectual systems and processes. My understanding is they will ditch the win loose ratio to be like the Boks. Develop a four year tactic for WC's. But ya. The skill and pure insticnt are Championed by the Southern Hemisphere. The intelectual process is also championed by the Southern Hemisphere.

South Africa has three times more players to choose from than most countries. They have perfect training weather and are able to win matches without scoring a single try. Change the scoring system and they would lose most encounters.

Kirwan is unable to come to terms with the fact that the mighty all blacks have slipped down the ladder, aw poor boy. We will see them play under their new coach against England on Saturday, one would expect them to improve significantly under the new coach Razor, seems like they a bit thin with their lock stocks, time will tell.

Kirwin is living in his own utopian world, where the future successes of the AB.s is based on, Bokke playing losing rugby between world cups, new world rugby laws lessening the impact of scrum set pieces, stereotypical playing style of the bokke is not the future of rugby. Go figure, he is a whiner without professional rugby knowledge and respect to where it deserves. He will whine for years to come. Until AB,s bring their coaching standards up to DR Erasmus, they have no hope.

i’ve experienced NZlanders as humble feet on the ground people, compared to quite common Australian arrogance. but since i first saw and listened to these two, i’ve thought of them as the pinnacle of superciliousness. how to assess this? just compare them to SA or even UK pundits. done. and that’s why SA is winning. its in reality and what can be done with it.

If they want to speed up the game, take TMOs and cards out of the equation, and somehow rule out the never-ending rucks that so often ensue on trylines (which so often lead to utterly wrong decisions). The obsession with speeding up the game is anyway stupid. It does NOT enhance the spectator value. Can we please have traditional rugby back?

Yes, and no to both. The Boks are World Champions, but so are every other team in their minds. The next WC is 4 years away and many things can happen: Injuries, bad ref, bad options/decisions, luck and others. NZ will be back and they did dominate SA in the past, so don't look at laws, and stuff. Play your game and move on!

@@MrAhuapai very true, and look a the records in the respective counties In SA it is about 50/50 South Africa may be a couple ahead of the All Blacks In NZ it is about 70/30 in nz favour South Africa have only won about 10 tests in NZ against the AB's, and 6 of those came before the regular contact we now have, And the first 3 series in SA should not count as the All Blacks were not a true NZ team, Maoris/Polynesians and other coloured people were not allowed to tour, and the Springboks were not just a South African team but a Southern African Team that included Rhodesia and South West Africa

Bingo! As a NZer I have been screaming this since 2016! I believe the statistics would prove that I am right that a) the ABs are the HIGHEST penalized team since 2016 b) the ABs are the MOST carded team since 2016 - even in categories of yellow and red individually! You cannot win with these type of stats! Between the Springbok game at Twickenham prior to the World Cup to the World Cup Final, the All Blacks played 9 game! Of that 9 games the ABs had 3 red cards! What is the bet that the Springboks had NO red cards in 9 games - and I am NOT implying favouritism BUT emphasizing the difference between being a world champion!
