Originally he just wrote the chorus of this song for a commercial, but so many people kept writing to him after seeing the commercial asking what the song was called that he decided he might as well make it into a full song and release it

Ruwan Perera This is all based on a story he told at his concert in manchester last year, so who knows how much of it is right, but he said that it was a Japanese car commercial if I remember correctly, don't think he said what the brand was though

I saw him perform last night and I was blown away by the beauty and positive energy of this guy. He doesn't ever have a bad day. So much love and so much joy. The whole crowd was in some altered state, almost childlike. It was so pure.

My mom used to play this song when I was little. Fast forward 14 years I wanted to find it again despite not remembering the title. All I remembered was the tune. So I hummed it to my mom and she told me the name of the song. God after listening to it adter a long time, I legit teared up. I ussually associate crying with negative things but this time it felt good. Im happy this song exists.

First heard this as a clip in cell phone commercial in Japan. Looked for a full version for the longest time....could only find a short video with shots from a concert/visit to Nagano. Glad the song was completed and now there's a video. My favorite KishiBashi along with Intro/Pathos, Pathos.

Some people have called it orchestral electropop but I think it transcends genre.

Kris G It's often kind of hard to pin down, but the genre that immediately popped into my head was sunshine pop, which dates back to the mid-1960s. I checked the Wikipedia article on that to see what contemporary examples they cited...and sure enough, Kishi Bashi is listed among them. If you like it, there are a lot of other great artists to explore.

The song is amazing. This video interpretation is beautifully heartbreaking. The story reinforces the harmonic movement. Or vice versa. I haven't figured it out yet. It's just brilliantly beautiful. I've had the pleasure of seeing Kishi Bashi perform live. He and his musicians are very gifted.

Why? Because he is truly talented, I appreciate this type of music. I do agree with you on the family though. Apple is another company but they do hold some core values not parasitic imo.
