Actually, the current KISS drummer, Eric Singer, did the drums on the audio recording in the studio. He stepped aside and let Eric Carr come and do the video. Eric was too weak to do the recording, and was probably too weak and sick to do the video, but he pulled his strength from his heart and soul and was there for the video. He was probably one of the nicest members and most humble members of KISS. (They were all nice when I met them, but Eric made you feel like you were the only fan there that mattered. Such a great guy!)

Bruce Kulick is such an underrated guitarist. His solo on this song is inspiring. He is often overlooked because his mellow and laid back personality. I respect Bruce big time. And let us never forget The Fox, Eric Carr. His drumming with KISS from 1980-1991 was strong and precise. Some say he was better than Peter Criss. I say in terms of technical prowess Eric had it hands down. But Peter brought a raw street credibility to his drumming. KISS was different with Peter because he was more big band/swing oriented in his drumming. His style helped make KISS a phenomenon in the 70’s. Eric was more of a heavy drummer with influences of John Bonham and of harder rock acts. His drumming moved KISS towards a heavier sound. Both were great for the music they played in KISS.

That was Eric's last appearance with the band. He went into the hospital pretty soon after that video was shot, and he was not having a great day the day of the shoot. Jamel, if you can find a video of one of his drum solos you will be AMAZED! He was much more a rock drummer, as Peter Criss was a swingband & jazz drummer. In the Animalize tour concert I saw he had drum pads and I remember thinking it was odd since he was like 3 drums shy of Neil Peart's kit (lol). But then, in the solo, he hit one... OMFG! It was a power chord! He had them set up for a couple I-IV-V progressions! He was playing like he was an entire band on his own! He melted the f@%kin' roof off the arena! RIP Eric Carr.

This was the last video that Eric Carr made with the band before he passed on. He had just had open heart surgery and they found he had cancer on his heart and he was in severe pain making this video but he pushed through for the fans. He was a great drummer and a greater human being. His death was over shadowed by he passing of Freddie Mercury the same day. May they both R.I.P.

God Gave Rock n Roll To You II was the last video Eric Carr filmed. He was really sick at that point. He wore a wig because all of his hair was gone due to cancer treatments. Eric Singer recorded the drum track in the studio but Eric Carr insisted he come out of the hospital to film the video. RIP Eric Carr

One of my most favorite Kulick solo's. Just brilliant. Written like a dance. The song to. Micheal Bolton himself could do some solo's to. He wrote this song. Paul bought it then stamped "Co-Wrote" on it. When I saw them perform this one in Jacksonville Florida Gene Simmons stood like a statue, no singing, staring in 2-3 directions for long periods through the entire song with a "Gonna sit this one out" look on his face. That was worth the $20 I spent for that ticket and probably the reason I bought two shirts though only making it home with one. The girl I went home with deserved it. She actually deserved a hundred of 'em. Strange waking up with AC/DC's song "Shook me all night long" in my head. Must have been 100 times I sang "She kept her motor clean" with a single vision in my head before I got my teeth brushed. Then the shower with breakfast a few minutes later.

In their day, (Or decades) Not every KISS song made the top 40 radio. But Kiss is one of those bands where they can play a 2-hour concert and the fans not only will know every one of the songs but wish they had played 2 hours more.

Thanks for adding Mark St. John to the list here, as I believe his guitar work on the 1984 "Animalize" album was and still is spectacular! It was such a shame when he developed severe carpal tunnel syndrome (I think that's right?) that rendered him physically unable to play the guitar or tour for very long. RIP both Mark and Eric...

@@blgeiger71, some solos on 'Animalize' were played by Bruce Kulick though. His brother Bob was also a band member in some way, he died recently.

@@nicksm7980 Bob Kulick was the other guitar player KISS had narrowed it down to between him and Ace. When Ace was having his issues with substance abuse it was Bob they had in the studio creating and playing quite a few of those solos. Then he'd have to teach them to Ace. He also recommended his lil' bro Bruce to the band.

Eric Carr (The Fox) died in 1991, Mark St. John died in 2007, Bob Kulick died in 2020. Bob Kulick was not an official KISS member, but appears on four albums, and toured with Paul Stanly on some of his solo tours. Bob Kulick is also the brother of Bruce Kulick, who played lead guitar for KISS from 1983 to 1996.

This drummer, Eric Carr, passed away in 1991. He was their second drummer after Peter Criss who was with them until the very early 80s. Actually, I think this was Eric Carr's last tour with KISS before he died. I believe he was on most of the tracks for the album that followed, but died before it's release. The last song on the following album "Revenge" was an old jam session with Eric Carr, so basically just a long drum solo with some guitar work mixed in.

Great band in multiple incarnations, with and without makeup. I saw them 20 + times but the most memorable was Dec ‘76 in Lakeland Fl. Opening number “Detroit Rock City” . Ace is walking down stairs touches the railing and was electrocuted. Fell down and was knocked out for a few minutes. Took about a twenty minute break and then came out and finished. Of course next album Ace writes a song “Shock Me” with an awesome guitar solo! Ace rocks and my favorite song is “Deuce” live from Cobo Hall ‘75.

The band HAKEN is an amazing and extremely talented rock band - Some of their many incredible rock music songs to react to include "Veil" and "The Architect" and "1985" - just to name a few - they are as talented as LED ZEPPELIN and RUSH were and the drummer of HAKEN Ray Hearne is superbly talented.....great youtube channel!!!!!

KISS has had 3 drummers over their career. Peter Criss was the first and was in makeup as the Catman. Eric Carr, who is the one in this video and was with KISS in both the makeup and non-makeup years, he was the Fox. The current drummer is Eric Singer, who was brought in when Eric Carr was undergoing chemo treatments and too sick to record. Singer has been with KISS in both non-makeup and return to makeup years, he is the current Catman.

Yep, Michael Bolton co-wrote it and he deserves to be reacted to, especially with songs like Fools Game or Everybody's Crazy (so unexpected!). Another Kiss song that should make it into the reactions is definitely "I Still Love You" (Unplugged Version)

Eric Carr passed away from heart cancer the same day that Freddie Mercury died. Mark St John, a former lead guitarist, their 4th, passed away April 5, 2007 from a brain hemorrhage, but was only with KISS for a short time in 1984 to record Animalize and be on the tour very briefly. Bob Kulik who was never in the band, his brother Bruce is the lead guitarist in this song and most of the non-makeup years, had recorded many songs with KISS and died May 28, 2020 from heart disease.
