KISS was my first concert as a kid...this video was released in 1982, and was an instant rock anthem of the 80s 💯 They were definitely theatrical.. they pioneered glam rock and took it to the next level.. During this era, KISS & their "Creatures of the Night" album were targeted by evangelists at their concert venues, and were labelled as satanists lol The two founders of the band, Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley are both Jewish, and both incredibly talented showmen 😁 Love this reaction video Sushi! Great work! Get some more Rock music in your life 😉

Gene and Paul practiced neither Satanism or Judaism regardless of their bloodlines. Gene is quite conservative on many points which is ironic since he is closer to actual evangelicals. Those few fake preachers that spoke against rock bands through sensationalism were ignored. Then and now, actual Christians are not worried about musicians... especially ones wearing platforms and grease paint...

You got that very right about KISS being a theatrical band. Their shows are like no other. They were one of the first bands to have big, theatrical rock shows, and they took it to places no-one ever had before. They were huge in the 70's. There was no bigger band in America.

KISS started out in 1973. They started wearing kabuki-theater inspired makeup to differentiate themselves from other Rockbands in the New York music scene. Over time, the band started to make changes to their concerts to increase their level of showmanship. For example, bassist//singer Gene Simmons would breathe fire at the end of their song, "War Machine" in concerts. Also, Simmons would ingest a food coloring tablet, and over a short period of time, he would vomit "stage blood" on stage. The band also spent time and money improving their lighting, and add pyrotechnics and fire displays to amplify the stage craft of their shows.

Very genuine reaction. LoL Heared this song when I was 9 back home in Russia. This song represents KISS through and through, maybe not the best intro song, esp. if you're not into this type of Hard Rock music. The whole idea behind the song and video is rebellious youth, freedom to express yourself and question authority.

Good LORD, what can you say about KISS. My first Album was KISS Double Platinum released in 1978, I was 11 and talked my Grandma into it because my parents wouldn't buy it for me. Believe it or not I still have the album in good condition (not prestine by any means) and haven't played it for over 40 years...wow am I that old! KISS was in Make-up from '73 to '80 and there was such a mystique because they would cover their faces and let no pictures of them without make-up. Then they uncovered themselves in '80 regrouped with original members Ace and Peter in '97 after a hugely successful re-union on MTV's "Unplugged." They put the make-up back on went on the Psycho Circus tour and now even though peter and ace are once again long gone their iconic faces live on on KISS' Farewell tour. "I Still Love You", will show you KISS without the iconic make-up and really show what wonderful musicians they are and what a vocalist Paul Stanley is. Here is the link kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h59khM6Dt7evd2g.html. They have soooo many more, you can listen to a VAST majority of their music unlike a lot of artists today. Have a wonderful evening and weekend my you and your family stay safe and healthy.

Kiss was the group that flipped our parents out! They were the very first of what is now considered a "Hair Band". We were able to "trick" them with the lyrics of Black Sabbath songs so, Black Sabbath was sort of accepted by our parents. Kiss on the other hand looked like they came straight from Hell in the 70s and our parents absolutely freaked! Our pastors insisted that we burn all of the albums. The cool thing about Kiss albums is that they did their group albums and then each of them did a solo album. If you collected all four of the solo albums, you got a full puzzle because each album had one piece of the puzzle. Sort of like Cheech and Chong albums used to have rolling papers that would hold a whole ounce of weed, Led Zeppelin albums changed color when you wiped a damp cloth across them. Very cool stuff. Alice Cooper had an album called School's Out that was actually shaped like a school desk. ( And he had an album called Welcome To My Nightmare that was narrated by none other than Vincent Price!)

i was a teenager in the 1980's and parents including mine called kiss the devils music, and i had to hide my records. people would even play records backwards and say satan was speaking thru the record, it was called backward masking back then, makes me laugh nowadays what some people really believed about heavy metal back then, KISS is very theatrical and a awesome stage show, still my personal favorite all these years, they are doing the end of the road world tour till next summer, hopefully they can get going again soon and you should try to catch a show. you will be blown away. also nowadays you will see families of all ages at the show. check out concert footage of the band.

KISS was a hard rock band from the 70s and early 80s. This song was released back in 1974. They were not from the 90s. Their most popular run was from 1974-1983. Most of the albums released by them in the 90s and 00s were compilation albums from their earlier work, or Live albums performing their earlier work, with some new work in-between, but they were never as popular as their original run back in 70s and early 80s. :)

You’ll hear a lot of people say kiss is ‘simple’ and not high level playing, etc…it’s really important to understand that kiss has said all along that Motown and RnB are HUGE influences on the band and they take this sort of approach when writing music. Motown is about as simple as it comes, but it’s incredibly catchy. It must be a winning formula for kiss because they have tons of hit records and songs!

I know @TOO SUSHI you're wondering why they bug eyes and the zombie like looks upon the teen's face. The album this song is off of is called Creatures Of The Night. That's why at the end everyone looks like crazed creatures, staying in theme with the concept of the album. I enjoyed the REACTION! You should react to the KISS songs "I Was Made For Loving You" and the music video to "Lick It Up", you won't be disappointed I promise!

Never heard of KISS? Sister, you picked the best track to introduce yourself to the hottest band in the world My dad used to play this album all the time, and I was 5 when I first heard it I'm 34 now, so it's really an awesome AWESOME track

Your reaction was awesome! Please do more! I was a little kid in their hayday but I loved them. Paul Stanley (lead singer, starchild makeup) has fantastic vocal prowess and even played The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Listen to the live version of I Want You to hear him show off. Gene Simmons (the bass player in demon makeup) was known for that tongue, blowing fire, and spitting "blood" on stage. They were a marketing machine with lunch boxes to dolls to movies. All these years later, I still love them!

You may want to listen with headphones on because there’s a horrible slapback delay effect. Check out “I was Made for Loving You” you’ll have an idea of how wide their range was.

Let me explain, in the 60's and 70's monster and Sci-fi movies were the genre of choice for the kids and Kiss kinda combined that theme with rock music.

I loved Kiss growing up knew every song word for word. My mom watched something or read something somewhere and came home and burnt all my records. Talk about devastating. She later told me that KISS stood for Kids In Satan's Service. But still I bootlegged the music and listened to it. Never turned satanic. Haha

KISS hit the scene in 1973. This song was recorded much much later. With only 2 of the original 4 members. This is also much more commercial music. Their early work was do much better. "100,000 years". Is a must listen to. Black Diamond, another classic. For some softer classic KISS Beth or Hard Luck Woman.

I heard the song when the creatures of the night album came out in 82. Kiss is who every metal band has been graded upon they mixed rock and roll with make up and pyrotechnics before any other band had I am a proud member of the kiss army ....

Thank you so much for reacting to my all time favorite band!! I have seen them in concert more times than I can count - lol!! They really are the best party of a concert you could ever go to. All fun - no filler! Their most popular song has always been Rock and Roll All Nite. I hope you react to many more songs of theirs. I'd recommend Lick It Up, Domino, & I Just Wanna! Here is a link to them playing Rock and Roll All Nite live under the Brooklyn Bridge! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7CUqaaJqMWVmmQ.html
