Kisser buttons can be a very useful tool for novice shooters, but there are a few details you'll want to consider before installing one. In this video I cover my favorite way to set up a kisser button.

I would like to thank you for two things in your videos. Your presentations sound more like the manner in which friends converse instead of watching someone drown in word molasses. And except for the brief background music in your intro, I never feel like I'm trying to watch an MTV music video. Thank you and I hope you have continued success.

Put one on my Olympic recurve and had immediate positive results on accuracy. Very impressed!

I haven't had any of the issues you mentioned using a big kisser button. I've been shooting for 49 years. I use a big kisser button with no peep for hunting. Hits the corner of my mouth naturally. I don't put my lips over it. I align my string everytime and have done it for so long that its natural for me. Bow tunes easily and paper tunes no problem. When I shot tournaments I did not use a kisser button and I did use a peep. I shot 80 yards in tournaments. I only shoot 40 and under hunting. Everyone should shoot what works for them. Thanks for posting video. You gave both sides and that's important.

I run a kisser button on all my hunting bows. I do not run one on my 3-d rig. Having the extra anchor point when you’re having to contort yourself in a tree stand/saddle, or you are seated in a blind never hurts.

Thank you for the great video, I used one when I had to switch to left handed now after shooting right handed for 25 years. It did help me with my form

Prolly not that important out West but out East when hunting from elevated positions and especially so from a saddle a kisser is super important. I ran a series of tests with different bows from the ground then from elevated positions and the kisser dramatically improved shooting accuracy. I wouldn't really see a big reason for one when hunting from the ground.

I wrap a small amount of serving at my anchor point and it works well as a kisser and is even less intrusive. Just enough to remind me it’s there.

great vid. have you checked out the Bowmar nose button? Interesting alternative. Lightweight and useful for shorter ATA bows where getting nose to string requires a bit more head tilt than desired

There are smaller kisser buttons half the size of the one you shown and they are good for another reference point. What I find ridiculous is those nose buttons but if it helps someone out, well hey, each to their own.

This was a great video, thanks for making/posting it! I enjoyed it a lot because I have only been shooting for about two months and learning about kisser buttons was interesting since its a tool I could use to better my shooting form, or make it more consistent at least. There were a couple of comments that you made that have me worried that my shooting form is way off. If I send you pictures of me at full draw from the front and the back, do you think you would be able to critique my technique? Or would it be better that I try to get a video of me shooting a few arrows? Anyways, whether you can critique my form or not, I love your videos, and this channel is by far one of the best, if not the best, on youtube for archery.

I use 2 kissers 1 in the corner of my lips and 1 on the tip of my nose. I serve them instead of using the brass knock to save weight.

Threw mine away after 15 years with one. Any pressures off the string you can eliminate equals better shooting. Only took me shooting without one to see the results and switched.

I don't like how my kisser button twangs off my lips, however I do like having an extra anchor point right up on the corner of my mouth. I'm going to swap mine out with one of my leftover Pine Ridge Nitro Buttons instead when I change my strings in April. Will do the same job, just less obtrusive.

I think it's a great tool. I see a lot of people that put way to much pressure on the string with their nose/face

Before I watch to is I will comment, yes I loved mine but I feel it shortens my draw length a good half inch and it’s another point of contact to mess up your shot. Edit : I didn’t think about the extra time taken getting the button in place.

I see a lot of shooters on tour the string is behind the mouth for longer draw length I’m guessing. Will that way work having the string be on to your cheek

Are these intended more so for fixed pin sights or slider sights as well? I feel like my anchor point changes slightly at further distance with my slider.

I’m fairly new to archery and went to a bow shop to look at some bows. I ended up with the Mathews Traverse (wanted the VXR) but they steered me away from it because of string angle for me. I’m a 29” DL. So my question is, does string angle actually matter that much? Thank you!!
@InsideOutPrecision
@InsideOutPrecision 4 жыл бұрын
Just totally depends on your anchor, shape of your face, etc. I shoot a 30" dl and the VXR felt just fine when I shot it. That being said, I still own the traverse. I've found that the only time I notice the string angle bother me is when the bow shorter than my draw length. Did they not let you shoot both bows???
@shortmann27
@shortmann27 4 жыл бұрын
Inside Out Precision I did shoot both, and they honestly felt the same but they told me that was from lack of inexperience and basically talked me into the Traverse. I was surprised that they tried choosing for me but I trusted them. Just wanted a second opinion on it. Would’ve rather had the shorter ATA for tree stand and blind hunting.
