They need a special rule set just for them, and here is the problem: you'd have to whip up special rules for highly mobile light infantry indirect fire. There is a chance that might break the game.

My theories is that, as the video above proves it, they are too easy to convert from other miniature sources (since most of them are heavily inspired by Historical armies). At least more easy than to convert say, a Space Marines, without GW's sprues. Thus, they never saw the modern suns because GW thinks nobody will care to buy them, since you have cheaper ways to make them.

bootsy As a Xenos player, I feel like there are way too many Primarid releases. I understand they are the poster boys but damn, Space Marines are already a super fleshed our faction imo, meanwhile we are sitting here with 30 year old metal and finecast kits that have decent rules but no one cares to buy since they look so horrible. It’s not even the Imperium getting too many releases, it’s literally just Primaris.

I think this is your best one yet. Astra militarum are done a huge disservice by being pigeonholed to cadia and catachan in the model range. There are so many cool regiments in the lore.

What I've been doing with my rough rider conversions is running them as Death Korps Death Riders. Since the majority of regimental doctrines (my own Armageddon included) don't affect cavalry you may as well just run them as DKoK since their riders are much better.

Ohey! Someone else using the Reptilian Overlords desert boys! I got some of those torsos a bit over a year ago now, around the holiday season of 2018, and they're some of the best parts for miniatures I think I've ever seen. Getting a 3D printer soon, so I think I'll probably be picking up the STLs for them when I have it so I can finally start fleshing out a proper guard army. I'll also say, as a resource for anyone that likes these and might consider buying them, if you want to use them for regular Guard infantry, they're not a perfect fit. The waists are a bit smaller than the hips of the Cadian legs, and no matter what you do, you're going to end up with pretty hefty gaps between the torsos and the shoulders of the Cadian arms. Obviously you just use some greenstuff or your putty of choice to handle that, but it aught to be kept in mind. Great bits, just need work to play nice with GW miniatures.

I don’t have the money for the following myself so I’m suggesting it: Victoria miniatures Matilda with GW predator turret and the main gun is taken from a 1/35 Tiger tank. Whip antenas made from black broom bristles as I once saw recommended in Fine Scale Modeler about 16 years ago. Coaxial heavy stubber and another mounted on the top of the turret for the commander to use. Again, I’d do it myself but I’m under-funded and getting ready for a move.

Alternatively, put chimera tracks on a Krieg spec russ hull (ideally, but standard plastic if not available) with predator turret and Tiger barrel and hull gun magnetized. Because it would look good. That’s why.

I’m waiting on my delivery from GW to attempt this exact conversion but with the Catachans. Something that will bug me as bike rider myself though is the throttle is on right side of the handle bars.

They did it for the GSC cults so why no other regiments? Most could be achieved with just some new heads and a few extra components that could be added to the cadian bodies.

Hey man, I’ve been thinking about how to make Tallarn infantry and recently though about using Genestealer Cult infantry to do so. They have the long coats that Tallarn usually have. The only problems are extra cult bits, mining equipment (like the shoulder light) and the alien head, both of which can be resolved with some filing as you have done here some green stuff turbans. Do you think you could make a full Tallarn Infantry unit in the way I have described? I’d like to see how it looks before wasting some money. Just an idea for a video without any ulterior motives.

How would you make the lances though? Riding around on a bike with a large spear doesn't make a lot of sense of thematically so a more appropriate proxy sculpt would be cool.

Could you possibly offer some advice/help. Have found I get great marine armour results airbrushing contrast colours over a model based in a metallic paint. Looking for a good airbrush metallic base paint rather than using leadbelcher and looking for a shiny shade and a darker one, ?Vallejo chrome, any opinions or suggestions?

Using a scalpel helps massively, you just need to not apply much pressure and you can control the blade really well.
