Those models are sweet. My credit card is grateful Fosscale don’t do N scale. That Kit of the Month Club would be very tempting. And what you did with them was outstanding. You make it look so easy. And sadly, down here in Australia, a lot of those supplies are pretty expensive. But we do what we can (and you and Luke Towan do what we can’t). 👍👍👍👍

Some really helpful techniques there Jason! Foam insulation as "concrete"... Damn!! That's a fantastic effect/technique! Really like your technique for coloring shingles. I laser cut my own from full sheets of self adhesive label stock, pre-staining the white paper with alcohol stain (tan/beige color). Was using alcohol stains to add streaks to the laser cut strips (still in sheet form), but this curls the material badly. Going to give the markers a shot, looks like the perfect solution... Great build! Very helpful... Thanks for sharing your work.

Hi, Jason. I love doing craftsman kits. I discovered them about 10 years ago when I was a young 65-year-old. I thought building a layout was fun until I got hooked on these kinds of kits. The layout is falling behind in build & not enough room to put the buildings! LOL. I really enjoy your videos. Great modeling.

Thanks again Jason for another amazing video. Each time I watch I learn some new techniques but also see new products I want to try. I originally was starting a small 10x2 switching layout. I have found that I enjoy constructing the buildings so much and creating little dioramas more than the rail aspect. It just means I have to tailor my layout design to fit my dioramas. Thanks for all you are doing to help all of us create.

You never cease to amaze me Jason. Your modeling skills are simply fantastic. I have learned so much from you. I started out with designing a small N scale layout. Even went as far as to design and 3d print all of my own structures. However after watching your channel for the past year and half I'm going to switch over to HO scale for my basement layout. Why? Because you have sold me on Fos Scale models and I want to build them. Man my wife is going to be so mad at you. LOL. As always thank you for sharing your art and your passion with all of us. You are inspiring. Take care. And "Happy Modeling".

This is the second video of yours I've watched where you get about 60% done building the model, then jump us forward to the finished product, completely missing out on the little details and random objects that add realism to the scene. The kits come with instructions on building and painting, what we can't learn from the instructions is how to go about adding the detailed pieces that bring the dioramas to life. It would be nice to watch the build in its entirety from start to finish, or at least not skip past one of the most intriguing parts of the build.

Jason, as always, that looks fantastic and I agree that the Fos Scale kits are great. Recently I built my first two kits, the first one I did the bracing first, followed by the staining, as per the instructions. However, I still got quite a bit of warping (I guess it also very much depends on the paint you use). So, with the second kit, I first did the staining before cutting the clapboard out and before the bracing. Then after the staining I layed the clapboard down, put some heavy books on it, and let it dry. There was no warping at all by doing it this way. Have you tried that as well? Like to hear your thoughts. Regards, Paul
@JasonJensenTrains
@JasonJensenTrains 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Paul!!! If you use alcohol based stains, it will cut down the warping a lot. Always go very thin. You can always give it a second coat. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!!!

Fantastic video, great techniques, love the concrete effect and what a fab combo with those model kits. Just a thought I wondered if there was room for a small 009 narrow gauge section somewhere on your layout that runs along the wharf, maybe in the later industrial area for like a fish van or something perhaps to connect with the standard gauge as if to move fish cross country. As always thanks for sharing. 🚂😁
