I'm an old guy modeler, & cheap too. I've enjoyed trains, cardboard model building or scratch using Northeastern wood supplies for over 65 yrs. (I could never afford kits) I know your enthusiasm and pleasure. My neighbour's 13 y.o. got an h.o. train set last year, so I turned him on to you, to watch your skills, to fire him up for a life time of fun. I passed all my train stuff to him. I was ailing, but his model building enthusiasm has brought me back to life, in an effort to pass that joy along! Thank you, Jason for your vedio presentations. I love them! 🙂❤

Awesome build. I love the way that section is coming together, and I love the way you rarely build a kit without putting your own design on it, either adding something, or changing the dimension of a roofline, etc. Mild kitbashing is always fun and ensures a unique build. Kudos!

Hey Jason, really like what you’re doing with this part of your layout. Having made the rough contours and now placing the dance hall indeed requires a brick foundation. Could even be a basement for the illegal casino. Anyhow, the thing is, because it’s not pre-planned, you have to adjust to the terrain. That requires another way of thinking. Of course we all can also adjust the part, but to follow the terrain is what makes the scene believable. Not too neat and zen scrubbed dirt road. Definitely wabi sabiying. Very cool!!

I'm extremely impressed with your model building. I have one question, sometimes you put the paint on first and the alcohol wash on second and sometimes you put the alcohol wash on first and then the paint. Is there any reason for doing it one way or the other?
@JasonJensenTrains

Putting the paint on first then putting the stain over it gives it more of an aged look. I would experiment on some scrap wood to get the look you want. Thanks for watching Wanda!

Hey Jason, amazing work as usual. Love how your layout comes together since I first discovered your channel. Two quick questions, you have a lot of structures build, but will your layout also get a train station ? and second, did you never regret installing lights inside your buildings from the start of your layout ?
@JasonJensenTrains
@JasonJensenTrains 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Mario!!! Yes, it will have a train station eventually. I’m not one for lights because I want my layout room to be as bright as possible so people can see all the detail. I like putting lights on my sci-fi layout because I can have the room dark when I’m watching a movie and have the lights on the layout going, looks pretty cool! Thanks for watching!!! 👍

I have a simple question for you… I have been watching you build this Port town for a couple years now. It’s been very inspiring in a lot of ways. But I am left with a question… do you have a link of any sort between the railroad and the waterfront in a video I may have missed or upcoming? Or does the train just run through town and go it’s merry way?
