@@thedyingmeme6 More an Arthurian Judas Iscariot, I think. The more Christian-influenced that lore became, I'm sure that was the case, but I may be wrong. The type who works his way into your confidences, sows discord in the ranks, then stabs your back when you least expect it, that was Mordred's MO on behalf of Morgan Le Fay if my memory serves me correctly?
@benjaminprentice68373 ай бұрын
@@MaskedRiderChris Mordred's deal is very unclear in our first source for him (which is just something saying that both Mordred and Arthur are dead). Depending on the story exactly what Mordred's deal is changes. His primary thing is being the child of Arthur and one of the Cornwall sisters (Morgause, Morgan, or the other one) and ultimately betraying Arthur (or at least making war against Arthur). In some versions he's a schemer on his own, postdating the height of Morgan Le Fae's evil schemes, and sometimes he's just the blunt instrument wielded by his mother. Pretty consistently though he fights Arthur, kills Arthur, and then dies himself.

They are fictional. But there is established heraldry for the knights of the round table and King Arthur. Sure, its fantasy lore, but historical fantasy lore. Before becoming King, Arthurs heraldry was green field with two rampant dragons standing back to back. After becoming King, he used a blue field with 3 crowns one above the other. Though sometimes he also has a red field and the crowns are sometime in a triangular formation, or there has been multiple crowns before.
@99thTuesday4 ай бұрын
I think of Sir Perceval who had a seat at the round table that was magically reserved for him called the ‘Siege Perilous’, and I think that is a great name for a Dreadnough or some other vehicle - if you go down that route.

The yellow and deer antlers are bringing me some Robert Baratheon vibes..
@theseven-armedgod73814 ай бұрын
One thing I'd love to see for another addition is Sir Bedivere. He's always been one of my favorite members of the Round Table and was basically King Arthur's closest Knight. In some legends he only has one arm, which could serve as a great excuse to give him a gleaming prosthetic, and there's also a myth where he catches a spear thrown by a giant and hurls it back at them, so giving him some manner of glaive could be a nice touch. Overall, I totally agree, Space Marine Knights are one of the best aesthetics, and its why I can't stop looking at the Grey Knights and Dark Angels ranges, even though I already have armies in the works, and the Grey Knight range is so damn old.
@TheHongKongHermit3 ай бұрын
Hello. As you're going for a heraldic theme, it's important to note that the "rope" around the base of the antler crest is not actually a rope. It's called a "torse", and is actually two different coloured pieces of cloth braided together. Knights wore this to hid the join between the helmet and the crest. In heraldry, if you were designing a coat of arms, it is traditionally made of a colour and a "metal" (white/silver or yellow/gold), alternating. I mean, it's totally fine to paint it as a rope, modeller's choice. But if you want full authenticity it would be better as two colour twisted together. This goes for all you soon to be Bretonnian players with the release of The Old World.

Since Gawain is already there, it would be a great idea to add his brothers: Agravaine, Gaheris, and Gareth, all of whom had a seat at the Round Table. Im also excited to see how you would adopt the Grail story in 40k. Percival is the original Grail knight, but Galahad, a much more popular knight, actually found the Grail. Lancelot is also a Grail knight, but because of his relationship with Guinevere, he wasnt deemed worthy to find the Grail. Galahad and Lancelot also has a weird relationship 😅

So strangely enough, I started working on a chapter I've called The Fists of Avalon. But I went full into some of the weird Arthurian legends. The subsector is a series of Feudal worlds stuck within the Brocéliande Nebula, that blocks Vox communications so the Mechanicus avoids it. The subsector lies on the western most edge of the Imperium and defends the narrow Warp Corridor against Orks, Dark Mechanicus, and Traitor threats. I am going to start working on an Ork combat patrol that acts as the narrative foil of my Feudal Guard (who are chapter serfs of the Fists that serve their Space Marine lords and help defend the subsector), the Warband of Morkdred, which I am going to use AoS Orruks to make some heavily armored Orks with.

For breaks like that I use a small drill bit to drill into each end. I then use a small piece of metal (usually a paperclip) and glue it into one end with superglue. I then put a little superglue into the hole on the other end with plastic glue on the edges on each part. I then join the parts, only takes a few seconds to hold and gets you a very solid connection. I have never had a part pinned that way break.
