When I first started watching y'all, one of the first videos I saw was a gadget video. I remember it had an item that for me, a person with dexterity issues due to disability, would actually be useful and you all made the comments along the lines of, "this is not needed, silly, etc." This is a common occurrence when people review any kind of gadgets. The difference was when your audience informed you of why it could actually be useful, the next gadget video you acknowledged that, incorporated that thinking into that video, and continued to do so since. The respect level I had/have for y'all and appreciation for listening and acknowledging the disabled community made me a lifelong subscriber. Just wanted to share that these things matter and people remember. Thanks for being good people. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

They got a lot better later on, and routinely acknowledge things like the small battery automatic can opener or jar opener (like for pickles) would be very helpful for those with dexterity problems. They actually listen to their audience and incorporate feedback to make better videos the next time.

They were just badgered by the internet for laughing at things NOT made for disabled people as being existentially distressing to trained chefs. The colorful spoon/spatula with wavy handles, the smoke gun, high end pepper grinder, waffle iron, giant blowtorch, Instant Pot and airfryer are some of the gadgets they use to this day. So digital scales are kinda neat, because they measure electrical resistance in order to figure out weight. As metal flexes, its electrical resistance (among other properties) changes, and so if you have a scale plate pushing down on a little c-shaped piece of metal with a current running through it, you can measure how the resistance changes as the c gets squished or pulled (depending on how the scale is designed), and it's all reliable enough to make it work as a scale.

Honestly, I love these, but seeing them crap on the spinning fork does me a bit sad. I feel like at that time they weren't really considering people with dexterity issues (as they later do come to acknowledge). But I used to work in a personal care home and there were people there who would have loved that (had it existed at the time). They loved their pasta, but couldn't eat it because they mostly just had the ability to lift the fork and had a hard time getting things onto the fork. To be able to say, hey, just hold this button and let it twirl the pasta for you? That would have made their day. Anyway, still love these boys, but that's the one that always made me the saddest.
