Kevin O'Leary talks Justin Trudeau's biggest mistake

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has not managed to hire competent cabinet ministers, and his lack of experience has failed him on the world stage against President Donald Trump, this according to Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Shares ETFs.
"It's now time for Canadians to make a decision, [elections] are weeks ahead. What do they want Canada to be, and where do they want Canada competitively. Trudeau could have never seen Trump coming," O'Leary told Kitco News.

Mr. O'Leary raises some very pertinent points. As he says, Justin Trudeau was all confetti and music and balloons at the outset, but has since done very little. OK, his legalisation of cannabis may have been seeen as a big step forward, but he has, as pointed out, fudged on nearly everthing else. He has made Canada into something of a joke, brought shame on the government, as well as running a slipshod immigration policy that has resulted in crime wave spikes, and events we never thought would happen here.

Trudeau’s biggest mistake was thinking he had the ability to fulfill the requirements of PM, considering he had never actually worked a day in his life. There should be a mandatory minimum requirement to run for the office. That would save the country from the inadequate leadership we are witnessing with the assistant drama teacher.

I actually agree with O'Leary (shocker) on one thing, last great leader we had was Harper. Harper was an actual real economist, he managed, somehow to balance the books, and just started paying down our debt, when the insane generation voted in a mindless playboy who has never had a job or a profession, despite being (or hiding) in school until he was 37.

O'Leary is correct that competent people are not motivated to enter politics in Canada, and that is a direct consequence of the electoral system. Also correct that Rene Levesque was a brilliant operational leader.
