Super info! Can a person copyright their own idea that is all original and unique by using your templates and elements within as long as those elements are not stand-alone graphics? Such as using many together that creates a design? Also, in the comments I read that Etsy may stop selling NON-hand created jewelry because of competition with those who do create by hand. I feel that they will not go through with this because what's available are obviously manufactured in mass. As Miss Luna Vega said, the jewelry comes with message cards, etc.. Those message cards are the only reason why Etsy allowed people to sell those in the first place. Think of this...EVERY POD is the same as the jewelry cards. We don't manufacture clothing, tote bags, hats, towels, wall art, etc.. We create the designs and text that GOES ON THEM. Jewelry cards or hoodies with printed designs and text are one in the same. Print On Demand.

Not ever POD is the same. No artist don't make the Products that it's being sold on, but we've MADE THE ARTWORK ON IT BY HAND. I'm talking about "CLIP ART" or AI for that matter. As for Wall Art Yes we do make it. We didn't print it or make the paper that it is printed on. We own the copyright to the work. You do not own the copyright to clipart you have a license to use it and sell it. Clipart is made by somebody else. There lies the difference with POD sellers. Artists actually do the art that's on the sweatshirt T-shirt etc....

Not everyone uses print on demand. I make all the things you listed. I make the design and then I make the item.

If I don't renew my paid subscription to Kittl, will my design on Amazon Merch still work or do I have to remove the design from Amazon?

As long as you have an active Kittl account (even on the free plan) you do not need to remove the design that was made while you had a paid subscription.

Just wanted to give you a little heads up that there's been word that Etsy is going to dump the POD jewelry. Because you are not physically, making anything. Which cannot be listed under handmade. It is in direct competition with actual people making handmade jewelry. There's also word that they are going to get rid of the drop shippers. That is for Amazon, not Etsy.

That’s not true! You can sell Message Card Jewelry on ETSY ... ETSY did a big clean-up a few weeks ago with some Message Card Jewelry like GearBubble and some of Shineon jewelry ... including the sunflower bracelet, love knot and Cuban chain ... Now I DON'T WORK at ETSY ... but what I think might have happened is that with Q4 (which starts in September ... ETSY wanted to ensure there is a good variety of products available on their marketplace + there were people on TikTok promoting Dropshipping on ETSY which is not ALLOWED ... item must be modified / MADE TO ORDER to be sold on ETSY ) ... Unfortunately, many jumped on these trends, creating low-quality products which flooded the marketplace ... copying each other ... the list goes on ... AS A SELLER, you ALWAYS need to ADAPT ... you can still sell Jewelry ... especially if it is personalized ... you can still sell Print On Demand ... BUT you must focus on having HIGH-QUALITY products LOT's of OPPORTUNITIES ... but remember, your intention must be creating valuable products for people to BUY ....

Where have you heard this I’m curious? Was thinking of adding it. If etsy did that though they’d have to take down all pod bc many people just put clip art on a shirt they don’t make.

I do know of someone who had some of their Shine On listings taken down. That was a couple of weeks ago, not sure what happened since then. But yes I agree with the previous comment, where do they draw the line? A shirt that is POD can be a competitor of someone who does their own screen printing or sublimation. Are all POD shirts going to be taken down too? Time will tell….

$150 dollars for a cheap plated pendant? Crazy. It won't last, the gold will come off and there will be lots of disappointed customers in a few years time when this 'milestone' piece looks like a cheap piece of trash. I'm a silversmith and my brand name is so important, so my conscious wouldn't let me do this to people.. I've also just checked shine on here in the UK and the reviews are awful! If you want high quality handcrafted items go to a proper jeweller who aren't in it just to make money!!
