@@Kiwiamericans Yes I would be surprised if you were able to actually justify speeding. In any case, most people, NZers at least, learn where the cameras are and slow down so they don't get nabbed. There will sometimes be vans on the motorway, but they're easy to spot from a distance. Speed camera fines are a tourist's trap, not something to still be fooled by after four years here.

@@Kiwiamericans really, so going going 15 over the limit is fine because “I’m late to my super important thing I need to do. Fuck the pedestrian/ mom pushing a pram because IVE GOT PLACES TO GO!” Vroom vroom Maybe think about your actions and if you realise what a dick you are being breaking the speed limit and endangering other peoples lives an apology would be welcome. And if you want a sobering stat. A collision with a pedestrian at 30 means an 80% chance of survival and at 50 it flips to an 80% chance of fatalities. Slower speeds saves lives.

We don't see ourselves as passive aggressive. We were brought up to be non-confrontational, non dramatic, humble and very polite. So we are forced to hint at things, It's our cultural dance of veiled messages and has a beauty of its own that people raised in it appreciate. We find the raw brashness and obvious confidence of some cultures painful. We are changing though as we become exposed to other ways of being..

C'mon it's a form of control, you don't give the other person a tangible way of confronting you, even though you know very well that it would piss you off too lol. "Do you really think thats a good idea?" "C'mon don't be a piker!" "It's only a little bit ok?" "Can I borrow that? No? Really? Why's that?" Standing around you in the store...at work ... In a queue ... Those impatient taps or tch noises ... The stink eye ... My dad used to make me do the lawn by going out during the hottest or wettest time during the day because, I wouldn't do the lawn when he said... So unless you like seeing your old man in the burning hot sun working hard or in the rain doing something just as dumb... Then conform, compromise or just do as they asked...😅 You get all these petty digs... They expect you to read their minds as to why they're pissed... So they're silent, or they slam cupboards expecting you to figure it out... I'm not passive aggro I'm aggro... So if someone is being moody I'll directly ask "Are you pissed?" Come at me I won't walk around on eggshells I'll smash the tray!!!

Hi! The speeding tickets you get in the mail are from speeding CAMERAS that detect your number plate, and then send the ticket to the registered owner of that number plate. Agreed, Wellington's CBD is all reclaimed land from earthquakes, Banks Peninsula was formed by 7 different Volcanoes that are now extinct, that last 2 Volcanoes being what are now Lyttelton and Akaroa Harbours. Basically without earthquakes ,which New Zealand has over 900 fault lines and Volcanoes of which there are 10 active, all of them in the North Island, including Lake Taupo which is a mega Volcano roughly the same size as Yellowstone. New Zealand is one of the most seismically active places in the World.

If everyone wanted to talk to a police officer, that would take a lot of time and the cost would be high. This in turn would cut the surveillance level which in turn would raise the road toll. Already we have approx eight people killed per 100,000. (US approx 14). We know that speed kills. You can write in and you will be given the evidence and you can take it to court if you want to. Why not just accept it , pay up and slow down. Is your anger over this a secret passive aggressive desire to raise the grief level in NZ? Do you care about the grief level in NZ, the higher grief level in your own country? Speed cameras work - they lower the kill rate - they lower the grief levels, despite popular mythology. I fervently wish that no one ever had to go to the morgue to identify their family member’s mutilated body. Slow down and teach your children to do the same.

1. You will rather crash and injure or be close to death more than getting a speeding ticket💀 2. Earthquakes, Tsunami's and Volcano eruptions. Basically they happen in other countries too✌️ 3. What wrong with Kiwis???

So they're the snide remarks? How some do things at work? (Passive aggressive) Is that more from women to other women? Yeah, those speed cameras don't solve problems and we know they're revenue raisers. They have them in Australia but don't sign post them. It's very lazy. Well Tara (if I may use your first name,) anyone can see you're an honest, hard working LOVELY person and would be such a lovely person to know, -on a plutonic humanity level. (Andrew, NZ.)

Australia has a much lower all-cause road mortality than NZ. I would prefer the lower grief levels. And, actually, speed cameras have lowered road mortality. They do work.

There hasn’t been a Tsunami in New Zealand for ages there was only an alert like one year ago. Only one island erupted that only affect the people on and houses on the beach that over look it. We are not that passive aggressive it is that some people like to see things a different way. I love how you said no country is perfect but we barley have and natural disasters that are crazy! And so many people that o have met even if they were doing their job haven’t been that passive aggressive. But no hate to you because I still love how you said no country is perfect ❤❤❤

I am a New Zealander living in New Zealand and the only reason you don’t like a speeding ticket in the mail is because you can’t make up any excuses for why you were speeding, and also we are not passive aggressive, we just don’t take no crap from anyone.

I can understand the other 2, as a NZ-born citizen. But seriously, the speeding thing is bloody ridiculous. If you don't want a ticket, be more mindful of how fast you're going and just don't speed.

As an Alaskan we have Earthquakes, Tsunamis, and Volcanos all the time lol. Also don't drive fast and you won't get a ticket. Lastly pretty much everyone in the Southern United States is passive aggressive, it's part of the culture. If you hear someone in the South say "why bless your heart" that does not mean bless your heart, lol. If you really want to go to a passive-aggressive culture, go to Japan, nobody says what they mean. And if you like aggressive people, just go to Paris, Rome, Moscow, New York, Boston, or London lol. Actually I have also found Germans to be very passive-aggressive, but not the Swiss! Lol.

You're right that no place is perfect, including the one I've lived in for many years, and some are MUCH worse than others, which is obvious. I want to add that I grew up in beautiful New Zealand in the 60s and 70s and many people, especially parents, were outright aggressive, so it's improving. 😊
