We've just finished an oil analysis and found that using a bypass filter resulted in particle size decreasing from 8 micron to sub micron. Also the amount of dirt (aka silicon) in circulation decreased 2/3 from 32 ppm to 11 ppm. The oil was noticeably more slippery when it was changed and the engine was noticeably more quiet. I have a theory, correct me if i'm wrong. The full flow filter has a nominal of 30 microns or higher. The dirty oil has particles that fall between the bypass filter's nominal and 30 microns. No shit it makes it clear. Show people the same test with particles smaller than your bypass filter's nominal rating. Sure it will be cleaner, but using real world oil for this test, from a diesel with any miles on the oil, will still be black oil. You've also taken pure clean oil from the full flow filter and diluted your sample, then taken more pure clean oil from the bypass filter and diluted the sample further. put real used oil in there and show us the results, not your staged "particles". And don't dilute a quart of dirty with 2 quarts of clean. Fill that whole test with some diesel oil with 5k on it. bypass filtration works, just stop showing us bullshit demo's like this. People have unreal expectations and then go on forums and say this doesn't work, my oil is still black. Videos like this spread misinformation.

what's wrong with your valve? The secondary filter shouldn't take the whole oil supply, unless the pressure drop across the filter is the same as OEM & the pressure bipass is the same as OEM. This is highly unlikely. This setup would require an almost unlimited # of bigger filters to be manufactured compared to splitting the flow and using a secondary intake and return.

In the demonstration the entire flow is going through the bypass filter where around only 20% will go through the bypass filter on the vehicle. what will the results actually be in that application as in the real world?
