There's no reason to believe their teeth work the same as ours do. The fact that they use teeth sharpeners may mean that their teeth grow their entire lives and dull and have to be resharpened. As for the color it could be a completely different material than enamel. So for them oral hygiene would end up being something completely different.

It's also possible that they were still unsure how they wanted to show Klingon women. The overall makeup was still evolving. Compare them to later on with Lursa and B'Etor and their epic Kleavage Windows. On the other hand it's a transition period, look back at STV and Vixis (drool). Worf mainly knows about his culture through second hand learnings and studying. Because he did not spend most of his life among his people, expectations vs reality may be a very different thing. After all, if one were a human who did not grow up among humans and learned about human traditions from secondhand information, would that human not expect all humans to traditionally wait until marriage for sex? That's probably worth a few laughs.

I kind of look at it like this. The US Marines always say every Marine is a rifleman. But not all are in the infantry or any of the other combat fields. There are Marines that are in finance, and accounting, and whatnot. I see it the same way for the Klingons. However, their basic nature is still that of the fighter. Not all will excel in the fighting part. As with in real life certain things are valued more than others. Klingons value fighting prowess above all else.

Very true. And on the other hand, who's to say there were never periods in Klingon history that were less militaristic/feudalistic/whatever? Sure, Klingons in the TNG era like to think "this is the way it's always been", but that doesn't mean it's so. Just look at the American religious right, who think that the framers were all fundamentalist Christians and that all of history was like a 1950's sitcom or a John Wayne movie until the hippies sprung fully formed from the brow of Che or whatever.
