Antony scored because the keeper wasn't expecting a shot from his right foot. Lol. I think he's been working on that cos he also put a couple of crosses in with his right afterwards. Shout out to McTerminator. Idk if anyone else noticed he played the entire 2nd half of ET with cramps and didn't go down once. Even when he assisted Rashford if you watch the replay as soon he plays the pass he's cramping up. Again, when he's coming back to defend the corner at the end of the game he can barely walk and is jumping cos of cramps. Then wins the header that sets up the counter. Unbelievable mental strength.

He's good as a rotational player and as a tactical weapon. As a whole, dude, he costs us. We're so porous in the middle against any team, and his vision, 1-2 play as a mid are non-existent . The only area where we praise him is in attack yet he's a CM first. I love him man but nowhere as a starter. Look at Eriksen's impact in the same position for like what, 30-40 min? Plus crowding Hojlund's area every time? It's the tactic, I get it, but .. I have so much respect for ETH for how he's made it work with what he's had so far
@feetunes2 ай бұрын
@@jon3416 agree Jon. McTominay is a rotational hit guy. A kind of Fellaini who bleeds red passionately, but shouldn't be a first choice player. But it worked yesterday, even though as you said, lots of holes in the middle of the field which Mainoo, for all his quality can't fill on his own. Like you, I love him, but watch him for a whole ninety, and it becomes clear our midfield can not have control for large chunks. Didn't agree with Captain Scarlett for a change. I hope Mainoo will be that number 8, once we get a younger Casemiro upgrade.
@jon34162 ай бұрын
@@feetunes true mate. It's actually funny how you can see fans demanding a form of identity/style of play, and still go ahead and demand Scottsy start because he scores! Mate, McTominay is a tactic. We all love him for his passion, but he is so average and we can never ever see any form of link-up free flowing football that ETH favors with him in the team. That's why I'm saying I have respect for ETH's tactical acumen, for using Tominay effectively for what he can actually do which luckily for us, is score goals. Well, it's also rather unlucky for us since that seems to be all he can give as a CM - and it's working 🤷🏼♂️

The reason people don´t rate him is because hes is out of position a lot of the time, and that leads to the defense lacking passing options. Look at most games he’s played this season and you’ll see he has the least touches of any midfielder. However these kinds if games suit him where he can just crash the box and make stuff happen

I might not fancy ten Hag's tactics at Manchester United, but he is starting to make great use of Mctominay turning him into consistent goal scoring midfielder. That game will go down as one of the great matches in our history and Scott played a massive part in it. Scored one, set one up with a perfectly weighted pass and won the corner that got us on the front foot for the third goal.

I think if we play Mount as a 8 or a double Pivot if Mount and Maino,with Scott upfront supporting the striker,we would be so great.. we currently have Bruno and Mctominay as 8s but when we concede position,Maino is so isolated. Bruno doesnt do enough defensive work even though he runs a lot in press. Bruno always looses possession in difficult situation which many times have lead to concession of goals. I really wanna see how the team performs without Casemiro and Bruno in it and Amad on the right instead of Garnacho. Rashford isnt great at tracking back and Garnacho isnt either. I saw Amad made lot of interceotions in our box,saw him keeping hold of the ball better. I think he can calm things around with possession alongside Maino,Dalot. We are too chaotic at times with so many direct olayers.

As a very long-standing United fan, many more recent fans seem to not understand how United teams tend to play and why they have been so successful in the past. All winning teams need a sound defense so this can be largely discounted. United teams can sometimes dominate the midfield but tend not to do so. Scoring on the break has long since been a hallmark of United teams as well as having midfield players that regularly score goals. Feeding top goal-scoring center forwards with crosses or intricately working through tight defenses has never been United's thing. Of course, it happens but not often, this is why United Center forwards often find themselves working the night shift. Counter-attacking football is often the most entertaining form, ask the German Army, they did very well on the counterattack. This requires fast-moving players and a readiness to break out using as much speed and practice as possible. Goal-scoring midfielders like Best, Coppell, Cantona, and Ronaldo are where it is at with United. Not so much wingers, foxes in boxes, or center forwards.
@munyaradzimushato9102Ай бұрын
The absence of Casemiro in the middle was the major reason united managed to stop Liverpool in that space. The Lad is finished and too slow to fight fairly with younger and more energetic players in the EPL. His tackles are now always late and dangerous, hence the so many red cards and yellows. ETH needs to see that sooner and rest the old legs out of the team. Well done particularly to scott, bruno, amad, Ganarcho and kobi, we will never forget that sweat victory over our archrivals!

A very complete and perfect analysis. Hopefully ETH can do an autopsy like you have done so that Wan Bissaka and Bruno's mistake that resulted in two goals by Liverpool is not repeated by doing a simple pass because only Kobie Mainoo is the only United player who did not lose the ball in his control despite being pressured by 2 to 4 opponent who tries to grab the ball from his feet. Your comment about Mictominay playing well against Liverpool is also spot on even though I usually don't like Mictominay because often in other games he always loses the ball and makes inaccurate passes. Well done.

Klopp and media bias in tears is the best thing to watch. There's also a misconception about Antony. He was in the right last year, but then: breakout of Garnacho but he played at left. They could play together with Rashford in the middle or moving. Then Hojlund in the middle and Rashford to the left moved Garnacho to the right, so Antony had problems to get the spot in the team. If things stay like that it's hard for him to play unless Rashford goes away.
