@jamesanthony5681 Yeah, tell me about it. Jones stated flat out that he didn’t have a single one of their albums, just some Best Of compilation. And he couldn’t have been bothered to have done the slightest bit of research in preparation for this interview, or he would have learned of Robbie’s having written Light My Fire, at the very least. Maybe he’s just lazy, but to me that translates into showing a lack of respect for someone he should’ve been bowing down to.

chopin broccoli -- he's great; such elegance and style in his playing. i love things like his solo in "you're lost little girl", where the solo is its own composition that is an entirely different part than the verses and refrain -- beautiful part.

krieger was a master of texture and soundscape. he wasn't much of a "big riff" guy, but he is one of the greatest guitarist if all time for his unique ability in doing minimalist-maximalist musical notes that don't seem much in themselves but when placed in the song it creates something that is a lot larger than life. he is the perfect example of not overplaying and serving the song. he is a devil when in comes details. what the four of them did together in the doors was musical alchemy. with just four people and four instruments, they painted cosmic movies using sound. they were so efficient in placing notes and melodies and so effective in propelling songs from introduction to cadences to often explosive conclusions. they unleashed living, breathing music coming from the other side. one of the greatest bands ever, and robby is one of the greatest, most underappreciated guitarists ever.

I remember my mother bought the first Doors album due to the fact I'd become interested in playing the drums when I was 8 yrs. old. She said that I should lay down on the couch put on the earphones, close my eyes and listen to "Light My Fire" because the drum roll just before the keyboard solo would be a useful and do me right and would be one I could use in my growing knowledge and capabilities of drumming. I'm very thankful to Mr. Densmore for being The Doors' drummer, he brought an interesting plate to the table and was the hinge that kept the band hanging around for those years that changed my life and tought me so much about myself and drums that I would've never known otherwise. Thankyou John, Jim, Robbie and Ray.

Not so much an interview but a friendly chat, which is great because you learn a bit about them both. Subscribed I have.

Robbie is a cool guy for sitting through the whole interview. The contrast of of a rude uninterested Jones to the patient and kind Robbie was very telling. Jimbo!

Funny how people who weren't there in the sixties have a stereotypical vision of the era, like yapping about tie die shirts. Not all of us wore them! Only a fellow Baby Boomer who experienced it all should be allowed to interview someone like Robbie. The times were unique, fabulous and special and nothing today can compare to them..literally no one could understand it unless you were there. Morrison was so much more than a drunk tie die wearer. He was intellectually brilliant, a poet and a visionary. After that era the door was shut, a line separated the brilliance and quality in every facet of life and things devolved from there.Like they say, if you were there no explanation is necessary. If not, no explanation is possible.
