I can vouch for these. I tore 3 ligaments in my knee playing rugby. A bad doctor did bad surgery. I struggled to run and had poor range of motion for 8 years. Then u started similar exercises and now I have pain free range of motion and can sprint again.

I got jumped as a kid and tore my meniscus got surgery and made a full recovery I'm 19 now and I'm worried I'll have knee pain when I'm older do you think these will help preserve my knee if possible

Guys you can program these exercises as follow: Warmup your leg day with 5 min of sled push and pull (equally) Do your compounds Then afterwards do 4 sets of ATG split squats (6-9 slow and controlled reps) :)

ATG workouts are amazing. Completely got rid of knee pain during workouts. Squats with a wedge atm because my ankles are still super tight

Just remember that if it hurts you use an easier, scalable version. For example for the ATG split squat, elevating you front leg on a box then lowering little by little until you are on even ground, then add weight.

Deep pause squats, goblet squats with heel elevation, and walking backwards on a dead treadmill have really curbed my knee pain. I'm glad more and more people are following Ben Patrick's advice. He's a genius!

Great video brother. Any recommendations for limited range of motion? My left knee has limited range of motion due to ligament injury and shattering my knee cap. So less bend to my left than my right so a squat gets a little weird. Thanks in advance brother!

The first one is facts. 8 years ago when I started lifting I'd only squat half way down 😂. It was horrible form and I remember knee pain. I haven't felt any pain from bad form in years. My squats are deep and heavy now. I actually have fun doing any of the big lifts or even any hypertrophy work. I developed patience and control over my momentum. The only thing that matters is the Rep I am doing, not the one before not the one after. Powerlifting teaches you beautiful things that can be transferred to any other type of lifting or workout in general. When I started I was just worried about getting a bunch of reps in to grow muscle and I did get my newbie gains but it didn't feel right or safe. There was no longevity in my shitty form. I am 100% confident now in my athletic performance

Use a powered off treadmill! Walk backwards on it and push the tread with your feet. Since it's off it will provide resistance 👍

High to moderate tissue reactivity causing pain during/after activities. Must consider length-tension relationship and dislocating forces due to large joint angles. Only reason he got better was due to eccentric training of the series elastic component (tendon) and maintaining some proper form/alignment during the maneuver.

I would also recommend to do blood test for uric acid (gout) in case of severe pain without any clear diagnosis after MRT. One month on a diet and I can do full motion squads again after 8 months of suffering.

At a fat bulky 320lbs i can Atg split squats without pain pain its a marvellous exercise.. and yes i dont plan on staying this heavy, it makes you hurt a lot later in the day

going knee over toes and going deep squat makes my pain worse. I will try the backwards sled, not the first time I see that kind of movement recommended for knee pain, and I havent tried it yet

Question. When doing the ATG split squat. What should you focus on when pushing out of the squat? Should I be pushing from my heel at the start? Or pushing from the front quads?

When you've been lifting before you have a huge bonus. Set back to an intensity and loading you tolerate and start slowly building it up again. It's not that complicated. It takes months for your body though to heal these.
