Tendon stiffness is what i believe the science books call it. Not stiff like unflexible. It's like an added thickness to the tendons more than usual. More like his tendons are like thick elastic bands that store way more energy when stretched and release that same energy when unstretched.

@@papasitoman I can always spot people who grew up on ranches and farms....their backs and glutes are always phenomenally strong. But thats still is impressive i would say if ur not really doing any pulls. I will say u can make ur deadlift go up without even deadlifting. I just squat and alot of ghr and nordics and my pull numbers are pretty good, but i also do oly lifts so i guess that can be counted as pulls🧐

@mogotraining
@mogotraining 2 жыл бұрын
@@brandonhoover2120 A simple stated observation doesn't imply I'm impressed. I simply am acknowledging the fact that his training methods enable a different position in a a deadlift; one which is more unconventional. Sure, that specific trap bar facilitates a more upright posture, but most would still do a hip hinge drive. There's no need to shit on my observation when it's merely an extrapolation on the mechanics of his pull.

Mark I was watching this and it dawned on me you may be the one guy that has the answer I've been looking for on my DL. I was at a gym that almost exclusively programmed the raised handle trap bar deadlift and I worked up to a 500lb single. I switched gyms due to distance and they only have the straight bar which is how I was introduced and comfortable with as well. I struggled at 250lbs for 5 reps with the straight bar and a couple months later have only got up to 280lbs on the straight bar. Why would there be such a dramatic difference in 1RM between the raised handle trap bar deadlift and straight bar deadlift? My squat is not much more than my bw at 205 for 5R so it's not like the trap bar mimicking my week ass squat would explain it. Could the 2" in additional height that the raised handles on the trap bar give that significant of a mechanical advantage to allow for double the load? I'm 5'11" and 205lb for reference.
