Sandy, you changed my life. You introduced me to the world of becoming a craftsman. Working with my hands has done what years of therapy and medications could not. Without the videos you have released on your channel my life would be much different. Perhaps it would not even be. I have been a long time fan. Finally, I just wanted to say thank you. I’d love to one day own your work but what I have already gotten from you is countless hours clarity.

You’ve been with me every step of the way on my knife making journey during the last couple of years and you don’t even know it. The info and tips you share on your processes will always be the most valuable aspect of the Jacklore story. Many thanks for that indeed.

Good morning Sandy. Keep your knives exclusive. Try to mention the customer on your vidios. Three knives a week is plenty. Each knife has a story. Your personal attention. Very few can own one. And then to be able to see the craftsmen at work on KZfaq as their knife is created really makes it special. Kindest regards Mike Rogers

Sandy, your approach combines science, attention to detail, patience, and old school craftsmanship. The results speak for themselves. Quality is far more important than quantity. Very best wishes, Mark.

Hi Sandy, You really needed that week's break with your mates. Nothing de-stresses us like a long walk with good company. Your knives are very satisfying in several ways, they are works of art to look at, they sound good as they fit back into the sheath and I imagine they even smell nice with that new leather. All the best from Cumbria, Pete

Always love a Jacklore knifemaking vid. That's a time for a cuppa and a chill . Hope you're getting to Ardley you 'owld bugger'. Thinking about what you said about the knifeshow. It maybe woudn't be all about stock issues this year. Maybe missing a year just to accommodate the unavoidable adjustments might be a good idea as well .

Sandy, I love your videos and I love the look of your knives and sheaths, but I must admit whilst I would love to own one of your knives I have all but given up trying to get one, for over 6 years now I have been trying to get one but I never seem to be on the website at the right time, in fact it was the impossibility of getting one of your knives that helped in getting me to make my own knives, nothing like yours but then it’s best not to copy. I still do hope to get one one day, for my son, but no hurry, right?
@Jackloreknives5 жыл бұрын
keep trying Shelley. I'll keep an eye open for your name.

So it’s clank sound not ”snap” like I like to say 😁 nice sound of the knife sliding and locking into the wet molded sheath. Wish you great summer Sandy! Enjoy it as a Wiltshire man too! Osmo
@Jackloreknives5 жыл бұрын
LOL yes a clank is the noise a wet formed sheath makes. I think with your blade protectors you get the click then:)

Great to see your little finger wiggling nicely 👍 Do you have plans for treatment of the other two affected fingers, if you don't mind me asking? And it was great watching your leatherwork again, nearly everytime I show up somewhere with your knife, the sheath receives it's own share of admiration 😉

Beautiful knives once again. The detail you go to pays off. What weight of leather do you use?
@TheMendipman5 жыл бұрын
I think you are wise in deciding not to go to the knife show this year Sandy. You can always sell every knife you can make so there's no merit in driving yourself into the ground to build up a stock for the show. Maybe every two or three years would be better. Best wishes to everyone. Remember me to Lorraine when you see her too. See you before too long, Noel
@markmaloney51464 жыл бұрын
Nice work.. I noticed in this film, you glued the sheath together before stitch groving, and using pricking forks,, is there any reason why you changed the way you do it know ?, fantastic video all the same 👍
@WiltshireMan4 жыл бұрын
I've always done it that way Mark. Nothing has changed in this respect.

Could you tell me how to seal the inside of the sheath to keep the dye from rubbing off on the finished scale. I use Tan Kote on the inside but still get markings when I use Birdseye and Curly Maple scales. I really like your attention to detail on everything.
@Jackloreknives5 жыл бұрын
I only dye the very top of the inside of the sheath. Had the same issue you describe and even several coats of tancote will not eradicate the trouble.
