@@ballsdeep6985 many Japanese knives are stamped, not forged, including global and Mac and most Shun’s. Some very high end ones are but due to the cost of forging many aren’t!

LOL the way he made it using all those power tools. Trust me, there is no craftsmanship in it. Anyone can do it. Watch other videos on how a japanese blacksmith makes a blade all by hand.
@nickwoo2
@nickwoo2 7 жыл бұрын
Gaurav Jaiswal modern Japanese smiths have power hammers , kaiten toshis, drill presses and a myriad of other power tools. Just because you use power tools does not mean there isn't craftsmanship in the product. It takes talent and skill to use power tools well. It takes a ton of work to make a great blade without or without power tools. if you throw a novice on a grinder they will mess up just as much as with a file.

nickwoo2 I am not taking about those Japanese smiths who use power tools. I clearly said those who do it by hand by using traditional tools and methods. I still disagree. There is no craftsmanship in grinding a sheet of metal to shape and then grinding it more to shine and sharp.

I love the working around the table saw with no gloves no guards and fingers close to the blade. I do this all the time but keep in mind that kick back would be a disaster. I learned that if you do not push yourself to the limits of failure you will never know what you are capable of.

Hahaha! Electrochemical etching👌🏼The salt water is an electrolyte and the negative and positive ends of the charger are the cathode and anode that force metallic ions from the knife into the electrolyte that's soaked into the Q-tip.
