Even without BLADE Show, we love us some Italian knives. We chat with Viper about their two new knives for 2020: a new lockback, the Turn, and a fighting knife reimagined for outdoors use, the Fearless. These knives will arrive later this year, but until then, check out more from Viper here: kcoti.com/3agmdnp

You both are so personable. Valentina tries very hard with her English. But when she mentions the names of Italian designers in Italian, it gets warm. I hope that the next meeting of Valentina and Dave will take place in the USA. Dave, you make the best knife presentations! Many thanks. Written with Google Translate.

Thank you Mr Anderson for your work, I love your interviews. I like the direction Viper is taking with these knives. The folder reminds me a traditional italian hunting folder, but made with top materials and good innovation. Not just a copy of modern folders, but italian stile. I think every knife maker of any country should do that and put his culture and tradition on their knives. The fixed reminds me a ww2 combat knife. Valentina dovresti migliorare un pochino il tuo inglese, è importante!. Il folder mi è piaciuto molto, è fantastico, complimenti davvero.

@@matthewkuhl79 Good calls! I would add Mik "Molletta" Pinsato and Alfredo Doricchi to my list as well, from the top of my head. My Fox/FKMD 'Bushcraft Parang' used to be my most-used outdoors knife. It is still one of my favorite designs and why I know many of these other designers.

The folder is beautiful!!! But the "Fearless" is pontless - a fighter made for outdoor with a close to dagger blade shape…??? I belive two versions - real figter generaly a dagger = double edged and a field version one sided with some short false edge could be better, in my opinion. I like the Sleipner on it btw. FM
@theyowiehunters7698
@theyowiehunters7698 3 жыл бұрын
It is a spear point. At least, a different model is. Same as a dagger at the point. And once the blade is inside, it's a moot issue anyway as it's going to go in farther with very little effort, regardless of double edge or not. This style expands the knife's functionality--it does not diminish it. Therefore, it cannot be "pointless."
@forestmantis1737
@forestmantis1737 3 жыл бұрын
@@theyowiehunters7698 Hi, I agree that the term "pointless" wasn´t correct, but I stay behind the point I meant. The SOG bowies, for example, are single-edged with, I dare to say even "sharpie" point than most daggers I have seen so far, but they are nicely made for outdoor activities too, thanks to (not only) thicker spine (even that spine has some "grind"). At this point right the SOG Bowie could be a better option as an all-around combat knife and if I want a pure fighter, I would go for a dagger (the SOG new upcoming daggers look great btw). I had SOGs in my mind now, just because I own and tested some SOG Bowies and I saw an advertising video for their new daggers yesterday, but there are definitely many other options on the knife market today. So, 2 versions - 1 a dagger style - say like this one and 1 an outdoor version with very slightly grind of the spine, if they want to keep the similar design or completely without any shape of the spine - "just normal spine". The two Viper knives I've owned (both M390), were awesome. One I used more hard use than the other but both held a razor sharp edge very well. That's just my experience.

Watching her speak was painful. Can she possibly just do these in Italian with subtitles? I'm sure she is very good at what she does and I give her a lot of credit for doing this in English, but it's awful and takes away for the knives.
