I love all the colors together, I personally do not mind navy and black 🤷🏻‍♀️ you can always tuck the edges into your coat if you feel strongly about that too

I think your color choices are great and we always second guess ourself. For the bit of navy in the shawl, I don’t think it will go badly with the black. His shawl are always huge so there will be so many other colors that will probably hide the navy anyway. All the other colors will be beautiful with black. Go for it, I suspect you will love your choices. It is scary for such a big project but they always turn out lovely.

I love your colours and personally I love the pink-navy stripe combo !! Perhaps you could do the olive/brown for the icord? Also, you could make a mini vertices swatch using the new pattern update to see if you like your colour placement and combination! (: you could always frog if you don't have enough yarn later on !! I'm always nervous about colour and that mini shawl coaster thing would be a godsend

So excited for your Hannah!! I think if you're having reservations about navy as the i-cord border now, you might second guess yourself the whole time while knitting the shawl. That being said, I think the border is picked up and knit the end so you might not have to decide now depending on your yardage - so you could just change it to another color if you had enough to do so while keeping the other color assignments as they are for the rest of the shawl. Though sometimes too many options can make things more difficult!! I think doing the small swatch with your color combo ideas now instead of with leftovers afterwards could be a fun way to experiment and play (not sure on your available yardage, the swatch should be very minimal though). Hannah, I feel you! I tried to combine colors for a stripe hype sweater this weak and it was so difficult! Anyway, I love all your colors. I would vote for the brown I-chord, just because I think it will go with all your clothes better (as far as I know them of course😅). Can't wait to see you knit on that shawl!
