How to knit and purl faster using the continental method for knitting. Knitting continental will speed up your knitting and help avoid repetitive strain injury.

This is the best demo of Continental I've seen! As I watched you contrasting the two methods, I realized why years ago I switched to mostly doing crochet instead of knit, because switching between knit and purl was so much work. Now I can try to re-engage with knitting more interesting textures if I'm able to get proficient with Continental. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the kind words, and I promise you -it’s life changing! You will knit so much faster, especially if you already crochet!! ❤️🙏🏼

Thank you! My daughter is proficient in this method. I've been knitting the old way for 51 years. My goal is to perfect continental this month so we can easily meet our goal of 200 hats for kids in our area.

You can do it! It just takes practice. Maybe try a few minutes at a time until you get comfortable with your technique. What a wonderful goal 💞💞💞

Finally I get to see this method. I crochet and have been thinking about learning to knit. This makes do much more sense to my crochet brain.

Thank you very much for explaining the techniques so clearly. I have been knitting for about 45 years and I am definitely going to give the continental way a go. ❤️🇦🇺

Thank you for showing us this technique. I’ve tried it unsuccessfully, but watching you again doing it, is giving me the courage to give it another try.

I love your tutorials. The way you explain the “why” for the “what,” helps me process information, in a way that is easier for me, to make sense of. This way, I don’t struggle with my wips, unlike some tutorials, that get me so irritated, I quit completely and throw away instead

You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped! I had a hard time with tension too when I started but the more you practice, the easier it gets

Can you consider doing a video where you are starting from the beginning? For people like me who don't know how to knit? I crochet but don't knit and I'd love to learn!
@leeleeknits2 жыл бұрын
Sure! I’m going to post a series I think for beginners showing how to cast on, knit, purl, and cast off 😊

Why on earth is it necessary to knit “fast” or “faster”? No matter how anyone knits it’s the process of knitting that gives a person joy. So what if someone knits “slower” if a person enjoys knitting isn’t that what counts?
