I might have found my problem! I figured I was casting on correctly because of your nice video. After nearly wearing out my "practice" yarn and almost in tears, going to bed thinking over and over about it, I think my problem was with the tension of my wraps on the cast on. I was thinking I was knitting off the needle wrong and I had a tension problem there. I paid close attention to each initial wrap on the needle and the last stitch which was giving me so much problem is so much better now and I am willing to live with it. It looks pretty good now. I am trying to knit a "yeti" bag for my granddaughter:) I have never done a pair of socks so this has been a huge learning experience for me. Your knitting videos are such a great help in learning!

I used that cast on to make some coasters. Started with about 8 on each needle. Increased for about 1.5", then straight for about an inch and then decreased until back to 8 or starting number of stitches. Then closed with Kichner ?sp stitch. Made out of cotton. Works great! Thanks for showing us this cast on.

Thanks much, spent one and a half days, looking at toe up judy becker cast on before I found this slow motion. I really need a slow visual. You saved my sanity............God Bless you for coming up with this. At 40 I went to community college, ended up in a pre-Algebra class that I had to take and retake it 7 times before I could pass the class for a grade. Everything take me along time to get sometimes. 74 and still learning.

Judy’s magic cast on is the only one I’ve used for all my socks until your Fleegle Heel pattern. It’s great but does leave a definite little line - but no seam so they are comfy. I love the pinpoint toes in your Fleegles. I call it Star Toe and it makes me happy.

Nice! I finally figured out how I got the stitches twisted. I just never knit into the back of them. I so appreciate this clarification.

I didn't know how to share this with you any other way. I was watching this video; 1929 Interviews With Elderly People Throughout the US. At about the 30 second mark were several older ladies knitting. I have never seen it done exactly like this before. I thought you and your other followers might like to see and perhaps try it. I know I will next chance I get.

I am a first-time sock knitter and am planning to do toe-up, 2 at a time, using two 18" cable needles, rather than magic loop. How do I convert this example to using two needles? Thanks for your help, and for all these fabulous slow-mo tutorials!

Thank for the nice slow motion video. After I have done my initial cast on and I have knit the stitches on the top row, I find that I have too big of a loop in the last stitch before I knit the remaining stitches which were on the bottom before I turned the needles and are now on the top. I have tried everything and I can not get rid on the one large knit stitch at the end of first needle. I have no other problems with any of the stitches as I knit from one needle to the other from that point on. Sometimes this last stitch on the first needle the first time through is VERY big. I have tried countless times to fix this and I can not. Do you have any ideas as to what I might do to correct this? It is so frustrating:(
